Apartment help
Re: Apartment help
i would try looking on craigslist because in my experiences with house/apt hunting, most complexes are pretty expensive, but apts in houses are a little more reasonable and sometimes even include utilities...but some of the complexes down in long beach can be reasonable also especially for studios or small 1 brs...

Re: Apartment help
My mom lives in Fairfield in West Sayville off of Cherry Ave and Easy St, a 2 bedroom is $1570 and I'm pretty sure a 1 bedroom is in the $1400s but they are right next to the train tracks so you hear the train, you get use to it though.
Re: Apartment help
Most fairfield complexes have 1br's for under 1500..they have all the pricing on their website! I live in a fairfield complex and have no complaints..I would stay away from any Home Properties complexes
Re: Apartment help
I understand why you would want a complex over someone elses' home. I would definitely check out Fairfield properties.
Re: Apartment help
I rent in Long Beach, in an apartment, one block from the beach and our rent is $1400. We have a one bedroom with a huge living room that we made into a living room and office and a kitchen and dining room. If you are interested, I can FM you my address and other buildings around me. If you do decide to look in Long Beach stay away from Team Long Beach. The guy is crazy!
Re: Apartment help
There are 2 buildings in Mineola that are around that price. One of them is right by train and Winthrop, the other is off the beaten path a bit but I forget where. Look on MLSLI.
Re: Apartment help
I have a 1 bedroom apt for rent in Middle Island for $1100. I know this is east of where you are looking. It's also for sale for $84,900 (which works out to be cheaper than rent). FM if you would like any more information.
Re: Apartment help
I live in a legal 2 family house in Port Washington and the front apartment is empty. It's walking distance to the LIRR, 2 stories, washer dryer, 2 bed 1.5 bath, hard wood floors. I think it would be under $1500 but not 100% sure. Let me know if you are interested.
