Now that all of the wedding plans are done, we would like to start looking for an apartment.
Ideally we would like to move to Queens, since I work at St. John's and my fiance works all over the 5 boroughs...we would also consider staying in the South Shore of Nassau County...like Franklin Square, New Hyde Park, Valely Stream, etc.
Do any of you know of any apartments that are available? Can you recommend some good areas in Queens?
THANK YOU!!!!

My brother and sister-in-law have a house there....I love it too! It is beautiful in Belle Harbor. The commute is still a bit of a pain though, but we were talking about it!
Thank you

I just moved to Kew Gardens a few months ago and I LOVE it! Always thought I'd hate Queens, but I was so wrong!

Re: Apartment Hunting
I live in Astoria on 38th and broadway and I can tell you that on 37 and 38th streets they are buildign up big time! Like they just finished two new condo buildings but are renting them out too. You should def look into that. They are gorgeous and brand new! One bulding (i think on 37 but not sure) had underground parking.

well as much as i love astoria i just need a change of pace so we're moving up to westchester :) plus, our apartment is tiny and REALLY out of date and our landlord is not really into renovating
but it is awesome in astoria, you are totally right about the stores and the cafes! plus, it is only 15 min into the city!

mlsli.com or baysideinfo.com ('townnameinfo.com') - works for any of those towns.

Re: Apartment Hunting
Thanks ladies....we are definitely looking to rent for now. We can't afford to buy anything just yet, but hopefully after the first year.
I have heard wonderful things about Astoria too.....a couple of my co-workers live there and love it.....I know that it is a little pricey though.
We are looking to spend no more than $1250/month for a 1 bedroom....obviously we would spend more for a 2 bedroom because we really want one.....
I will check out the websites soon

Re: Apartment Hunting
We were told about a great apartment in Queens Village....it is a two bedroom above a dentist's office, so no one would be there on the weekends or at night. We would also have access to the backyard.
We drove around the area, though and it didn' look like the best of areas.....do you know anything about Queens Village?
Is it a good area?
