Re: apartment price ?
Yeah we are apartment hunting as well and some prices are good and others are horrible especially if nothing is included. I don't think that price is too bad, but it should include all utilities. I know we are looking at a one bedroom its the first floor of a house and its $1100 with all utilities plus internet and premium cable. Try and search for something that will give you a little something with it.

It sounds like a good price, it depends on the condition, if the apartment is rennovated, new kitchen, bath, then its definately worht it. Sometimes i see apartmetns on craigslist and they havnt been updated since the 60's everything is really old and outdated.
Get some pics or go see it!

It definitely sounds like a good price but just make sure you ask around about the apt. If it is in a complex try to ask the neighbors about the living situation and how they like living there. Also, and I'm sure you know this, ask the landlord for references. Being overly cautious is so important when renting an apt.
ps- what happened to the apt your parents were making for you?

Re: apartment price ?
We live in a 2 bedroom huge apt. in west bab with use of backyard and driveway and our landlords don't live in the house (huge plus). We pay $1200 including everything except cable.
Also I don't think you can say if it is good or bad until you see it. I saw some helll holes for that price and then there were some nice ones. We lucked out 3 yrs ago our apartment was just built and brand new so we were the only ones that have lived here

Re: apartment price ?
we have an apartment in our house we rent it for $1100 all and it has a washer/dryer. the only drawback is there is only 1 closet. but the bedroom is big enough for 2 dressers.
i'm thinking that the price is pretty average.

it would have been perfect if we could put in a small kitchen. but they wont let us andim not paying to live somewhere i need to go downstairs every time i need to wash a dish or get something to eat..kind of a waste.. plus we can chat through the VENTS kinda lose your privacy

Re: apartment price ?
That sounds REALLY good. We pay about that... it's getting harder and harder to find decent apt. at that price... if it's in good condition, JUMP ON IT! It won't last!

Re: apartment price ?
for you girls that have apartments and anyone else's opinions are welcomed
our current tenants have a 6 month lease which is up jan 31. how do i approach them about this? do i offer another 6 month lease or a month to month lease with rules about terminating? or do i ask them what their plans are come the lease end? i'd like to have at least a full month to list the apartment if they aren't planning on staying.
what do you guys think is my best approach?
