FH and I are going to move in together June 1st. Criteria is walking distance to a train and under an hour ride into Penn. We are thinking Long Beach or Mineola. How much do people think we will spend a month for a 1 bedroom? Also, anyone know names of particular buildings we should look at? Thanks girls!!
I would go with Mineola as they are more of a central hub of the LIRR. They have more trains coming in/out than Long Beach.

Long Beach is awesome, but the parking is horrible!! My cousin and her fiance live there and so do a few of my friends and the parking situation is not fun! Luckily, one of my friends takes the LIRR so he doesn't have to worry about parking in the AM. 1 bedroom in LB is approx $1400-1700, depending on location. FM me if you want more building info.

I was going to suggest Queens as well.
What about rockville centre?
Rockville centre and Great neck have 25 to 30 minute rides to penn. Trains are constantly running.
