I don't know, I think you should be careful with that kind of thing - not healthy...

I'd rather just eat healthy light snacks between meals than try to supress the appetite unnaturally . . .but JMO

See i guess my main problem is when i get bored I eat! I love food! :) I do great during the day, but at home it is a mess. I don't have that much weight to lose, but there is some to lose. What are good filling snacks that are healthy? Besides fruit.

You sound like me. I don't have much to lose either, but it's just getting rid of a few lbs here and there and tightening up, right?
Well, I eat a nut mix (almonds, sunflower seeds, and a few raisins) - it's surprisingly good. I also put sugar-free peanut butter on apples for another snack... The less sweet peanut butter may take a little getting used to, but the apple makes it sweet anyway. Once you get used to it, it's delish.
I always have low fat mozzerrela sticks in the fridge b/c I always have cheese cravings (also 2% milk cracker barrel cheddar cheese is good, but you gotta have it in moderation)... let me see . . .What else do I snack on.... oh, instant oatmeal is good too. If I think of anything else, I'll post it!

One more thing: I am like that too, easier during the day.... When I get home, I usually have a serving of my yummy nut mix before dinner.... and then a snack before bed. I'd like to cut that last snack out, and sometimes I do, but FH is SUCH AN EATER... he eats all night and I need SOMETHING sometimes LOL

soooooooo when I really have a sweet tooth, I'll treat myself to Haagez Daaz Raspberry sorbet after dinner... it's fat free and about 110 or 120 cals per serving and it's sooooooooooo good. OF course it's a lot of sugar to have at night, so that's why I really eat it in moderation... but the other snacks I just posted to you are good anytime

Thanks! I have the low-fat mozzarella sticks, too. Now I have the cracker barrel, but I don't eat it a lot. I can't eat it by itself. To cheesy for me. So I sometimes eat it with a few slices of pepperoni. Now what do you eat for breakfast? I eat egg whites and other days English muffin with jelly. For lunch it depends. If I'm hungry then I'll eat tuna with either wheat bread or light white bread. Dinner I make maybe some grilled chicken with Lawry's marinade, but a little. It is so hard b/c nothing is good for you ever! My FH is such an eater too. Loves his oreo's with milk. My weakness is Carvel. Love those crunchies!

THANK YOU! Anymore ideas feel free to pass along!

I love CARVEL! We cannot even talk about that.
Breakfast - On work days I'm boring... I'll usually have oatmeal with green tea or a small coffee with skim milk...and then I have fruit as a midmorning snack...
On weekends I will splurge sometimes. Once a week I'll eat whatever I want, or twice a week, and it's often on weekends for breakfast b/c I LOVE breakfast food. In fact, last Saturday FH and I had my homemade french toast... It was a splurge, but I was full like all day after that b/c I guess I'm not used to all of that bread and syrup/sugar and fat. Otherwise on weekends I'll often have 2 eggs and a whole what english muffin. I actually never eat just the whites, I find it too bland.

Lunch: I ate a lot of tuna and whole wheat bread... I also eat spinach salads chopped up with lots of other veggies (mushrooms, peppers, brussel sprouts, etc), sometimes with vegetable soup, black bean soup, or lentil soup...
Often lunch is leftovers from the prior night's dinner - I just eat a smaller amount of it... So I'll have chicken with veggies and brown rice or whole wheat spaghetti with brocolli in garlic and olive oil.... man, now I'm getting hungry...
I'm open to any suggestions you have too - I like to try and diversify the menu as much as I can... One website I find to be really motivating and helpful is http://www.worldshealthiestfoods.com/foodstoc.php

You can click on all these foods and get the nutrition info, and it really makes you want to eat it b/c it tells you how good for you it is... They have recipes on there too.
FH's favorite 'health' recipe I know is this seared tuna I make with this japanese style topping of mirin rice wine, scallians, sesame, ginger, wasabi, and a little light soy sauce - mmm it's pretty yummy

Baked chick peas with spices are very good. You bake them at 400 for about 35 minutes.

I really would not mess with diet pills. I've heard too many scary things.

Try things with protein - a little bit of peanut butter or cheese helps me a lot when I get the munchies.

I agree. We were recently looking at pictures from when I was little and my mom was soooo skinny. She was taking diet pills at the time. I asked her if she even knew what she was taking and she said, Oh, it was probably speed!

Now, I know it wasnt' speed, but it was most likely a low-grade amphetamine. She said she was very irritable and jumpy all the time and it really screwed with her metabolism. She has a real hard time losing weight now.
