Re: April 25, 2004
hi girls, I'm April 30th and i'm going to join
My rsvp was march 20 and I'm still getting responses 4 days after, but i think i got them all....of course a lot of people won't attend but that's good for fh and me, we are paying for the wedding!! I just hate that some people wait for the last minute or just assume that we know they're coming! We still have to do the tastings, and since my place gives me centerpieces i have to pick those too, also my cake and linens. My dress is ready and perfect thank good, I can's gain or lose a pound i have to finish paying some vendors, finalize with DJ, and still have to do hair and make up trials (am i too late). My honeymoon isn't looking so ood...we booked puerto plata in the dominican republic but as of now we don't have all the money so that's pending. Also finish the favors, get marriage license.....I think that's it! hopefully, i have like 35 days and CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome didianita! Well I'm going to vent on the RSVP issue - Tomorrow is the due date and we're still waiting to hear from 77 people!! Can you believe it??
Otherwise everything else is going to plan, I have another dress fitting on Sat, plus we have to speak to the music director at church then see the priest.

Re: April 25, 2004
My RSVP date is today! I think I am still waiting to hear from at least 30 people, if not more. I have noticed, though, that people are at least calling to let me know they just put their responses in the mail. I still need 30 more people to meet my minimum, and I have a pretty good feeling I am going to run short.
Picked tuxes last weekend, ordered the favors, finishing up BP gifts, buying wedding bands this weekend.
I still need to meet with both the DJ and the florist. I also need to give some more songs to the ceremony musicians.
How is everyone else doing?

My response day is today too - I have 40 people that haven't responded - have to start making phone calls I guess I have the paperwork done and the songs picked out for the DJ, just have to get it to them. We got our marriage license. I have to bring our little guy, Jordan to get fitted for his tux (he's growing so fast)! Then it's just the fun stuff, like seating arrangements and placecards - yay!

Re: April 25, 2004
Hey well our rsvp deadline is sat - we wanted to give people a few extra days so we choose the weekend rather than during the week. We still need to hear from about 30-40 people.
We had one person who isn't coming yesterday send us BACK her RECEPTION card? Dad was like ummm what is up with this?
We still have a number of singles we are waiting to hear IF they are bringing a date or not for various reasons.
We finalized with our band the other night! They are so excited and wonderful to work with so we hope they will be as amazing as we keep hearing from guests and friends that they are.
I have finalized church music and one of my BM's is helping me with my programs but I will have to have them printed somewhere does any one know what kinkos would charge to do the outside on think paper?
I really only have small things - print menus, print programs - maybe do rose cones - try on dress for them to show me the bustle (it needed no alterations), already have BP gifts, parents gifts - we are giving them (my parents since they are paying for the wedding we only wish we could afford to give more) a night out - tickets to a show they want to see and a hotel for the evening, pay the final amount on RD, wrap the favors we have at home.
AND prepare for our HONEYMOON!!!!! We won't be arriving back in MI until sunday night and we leave REALLY early on Monday morning so we need to have everything out so we can just unpack then repack and go.
how is everyone else doing?

Re: April 25, 2004
I've been looking online and picking up basic things here and there. Target was good for those tanktop with the built in bras, I think they were on sale for $5, for that price I don't care if they fall apart after the honeymoon. I'm really trying to find cute skirts, dresses but I'm not having any luck. Anyone recommend a store or online site to check out?
I have another dress fitting on Sat, and the bms have all started their fittings, so I guess we're right on schedule.
Christine - I don't know about Kinko's and their pricing. I guess you can call them, plus find out how long they would take.

Re: April 25, 2004
I'm going to post on here even though I'm the 24th if thats ok.
For HM clothes try Kohls they always have great sales! I was just there a week ago and they had buy one and get one for a $1! on some cute tops and things! I'm still needing to get our parent gifts and not sure on what to print the menus onto. I think that 8'x11' paper is too large I need something a little smaller. Any suggestions?

I printed my menus on 5x7 paper - I am doing 4 per table I think.

Re: April 25, 2004
I think I'm done with RSVP's...after my due date I kept getting more for about 5 days, and today we didn't get any! thank GOD! We have more pepole coming that we thought so it was nice not too get mail today We still have to finalize things, we need money too hehehe For honeymoon clothes I'm lucky because I'm moving to miami after so I started to buy and i can use them for both. I still have to finalize church music and readings, DJ and I start doing the seating arrangements....It's going to be hard.

Re: April 25, 2004
We don't know yet because we have a lot of courses to get on there (app, salad, intermezzo, entree, desert) We might try to use regular 8 1/2 x 11 and then take it to kinkos to cut it (they have those paper cutters there. For our direction cards for RD we went to staples and bought really think (almost manilla folder thick) paper about 100 sheets for about $7. You can print more than one on a page and then cut it - people think the direction cards we did had to have come from the restaurant itself since they came out very nicely.
I honestly would do say one each if you can afford it because as FH and my family pointed out there is nothing worse then going out and you have a few at EVERY table who hog the menu and say 'hold on I'm not done yet!' And they hold on to it for say 5 mins leaving everyone else with like 5 secs to look it over.

I have to look into menus, but I wanted to share a tip.
Go to avery They have templates for everything and maybe even a menu. If not, you can use a template for paper your size, say postcards that are 4x6, but you convert them to menus.

Re: April 25, 2004
Well, I got 4 No's on the due date, and since then a bunch of people have called to say 'Oh no, I missed the deadline...I'm coming!'...but I'd say I am still waiting to hear from about 10-15 people who have not said peep about whether they are coming or not. I guess it's about time to start making som phone calls

Re: April 25, 2004
Wow, I can’t believe we’re all getting married in a couple of weeks! Here is what I have left to do:
Finalize flowers, DJ, ceremony music, pick readings (!), finish buying BP gifts, assemble favors, go for final dress fitting, give final head count to the hall, seating chart, place cards…oh boy I still have a lot to do!
