hi all. This is my first post.. I am looking at wedding dates for next year and for religious reasons, everything from april 8- the last weekend in may is out. i was thinking about the weekend before all of that, April 1. Would it be weird to get married on April Fools?

Re: april fool?
Now my mom (who is very difficult) says it can't be 4/1/12 because that is Palm Sunday. We are Jewish. Is Palm Sunday a big holiday? Obviously I wouldn't get married on Easter or Christmas, but I don't know enough about this holiday. Anyone?

Re: april fool?
it's important to some people. I had my housewarming two yrs ago on Palm Sunday and a few people did decline bc they had church and family obligations.
What about the weekend before then? March is cheaper at most RH's!

Re: april fool?
i never realized how many holidays there were until planning a wedding lol!
id say pick the day YOU guys feel is best and go for it :)
you could drive yourself nuts worrying about eveyrone else..and this is coming from someone who did!
(since u dont know my story): i planned my wedding soley based on the fact that for jewish reasons cant get married after fri night sun down and cant get married until after sundown sat...i didnt want friday afternoon wedding cuz i wanted peoople to come and not worry about work..i couldnt do saturday night cause of minimums needed at halls i liked..and didnt wanna do sunday cause of people and work the next day...sooo i picked memorial day weekend..then realized that im getting married during a jewish holiday..everyone told me id have a VERY hard time finding a rabbi...and i did! if people dont show..oh well they werent that important.
take it from me..lesson learned..if someone wants to be there they will..if not, will you really notice?
Hope that helps!

I think you should go for it. You can have fun with a theme. Also don't worry about Palm Sunday. Whoever wants to be there will.

Re: april fool?
i think my mom dislikes the april fools thing so she may make a big deal about Palm Sunday as an excuse. It might be easier to just do it the week before.
