We plan to, but we're getting married at 12pm at RH, guests arrive at 11:30am. So we'll have to make sure we're ready at like 10am. Doesn't sound like a problem, I hope. I want to enjoy the cocktail hour since we're going to have a slamming menu.

Hey! Congrats and welcome! Yes we are definately seeing each other for pics prior to the ceremony. There is no way I'm missing my cocktail hr!!

Yup definitely taking pics prior.Since FH and I met at Nassau Community College,we were considering doinng our 'reveal' there and then shooting to Old Westbury Gardens for more pics and then onto Chateau Briand. We want to enjoy every moment of the wedding and don't want to miss the CH taking pictures.

We plan on seeing each other before for pics! I'd like to coordinate some kind of reveal moment with the photographer so we dont miss out on that.

We aren't seeing eachother before the ceremony. More exciting than going to my full CH is seeing the look on his face when the ceremony doors open and I walk towards him. Gives me chills just thinking about it.

we are not seeing each other until i walk down the aisle. we are taking pictures after the ceremony, and have enough time to relax before hitting up the CH. thats our favorite part and we dont want to miss that. and we will say our hellos there as well

my fiance and i weren't going to at first, but then we decided that it makes more sense. we're paying for our wedding on our own and don't want to miss any part of it. also, i feel that taking pictures after the ceremony would be too rushed and stressful.

We did it before and it was a great idea! I didn't want to miss a second of my wedding.The photographer usually does a 'reveal' moment when you first see each other in lieu of the traditional first moment.

It was very special to me to not see each other and we even booked separate rooms at the hotel and didn't see each other after midnight of the night before. It gave me a chance to hang out with my best friend and my mom in the room and just have fun and it gave him solo time with two of his best friends and my dad. When I came out to start walking down the aisle I was so excited to see him and filled with joy. The look on his face (I have it on video) when I walked out with my dad for the first time is priceless and is a moment I will treasure forever.

Yes, definitely. At first we were both extremely reluctant to do this, but then once we found out our desired date wasn't available and we had to move it to 2 weeks later, which wound up being after DST ends (11/19/11), we are working with even less daylight! I'm a photographer and the photos are most important to me and I am not about to risk running out of light or rushing to get the photos done.
That said, I also have no intentions of missing my cocktail hour or being stressed out about ANYTHING after the party has started :)

We decided to have our pictures done prior to the ceremony as well. In the end, it saved us so much time, and we were able to enjoy our CH. And the other up side was because we said hello to all the guests during CH, we didn't have to waste any precious dancing time greeting people. It worked out for us beautifully and we're happy we made the decision to do it.

Sure am. I want to get all the pictures done before the ceremony. Initially I was dead set against it, but it made the most sense for us not to rush anything.

I am.. but I'm still missing the cocktail hour. The way Russian weddings work is first you go and take pictures.. then you come to the hall.. take pictures by the Huppah during cocktail hour.. (so that the guests don't see you).. and then you have the ceremony followed by reception.

NO WAY JOSE!!!
I understand why people do it when they have the ceremony at the rh because of the time issue.. but i have 4 hours in between church and Reception and there is no reason too.. That is the main reason why i will not have the ceremony at the rh..

i would have liked to wait til the actual ceremony, just to see his face, but unfort we are diff religions, and my church wouldnt let us get married unless he converted and so we decided at that point we'd prob break all traditions, lol.

FH and I are diff religions as well, we're getting married at our RH and i absolutely refuse to see him prior to the ceremony! I really want that moment when I walk out and as far as CH..any good RH will bring you the food from CH!
