Are people for real

Original post by debsey75

My Aunt called me today to ask why her son wasnt invited to the wedding. I nicely explained that we had to draw the line somewhere. Needless to say, she flipped out.
But the reasons he wasnt invited is
1. At my sisters wedding 8 yrs ago he decided to pull down his pants and show EVERYONE his scooby do boxes. He was so drunk the waiters cut him off.
2. At my other sisters wedding 3 yrs ago: My sister was dancing with my uncle and he pulled my uncles pant down. This was supposed to be a serious moment and no one wanted to see my 65 yr. old uncle standing in his tighty whitey. . Again the waiter had to refuse to serve him.
3. He then proceeded to tell my 4 yr old niece the way to keep a man in life is to give good BJ's. And every other word out of his mouth is 'F'
4. He did something to his back and is now addicted to painpills. Actually switches Dr. every other month for new prescriptions. Has been sent to rehab 4 times over the last yr.
5. Went hunting with my brother in November and was pointing the gun at my bro's dog and teasing him so the dog bit him. He now leaves nasty messages at least once a week saying he is suing my brother and will own his house.
5. When hunting, he decided that he didnt like the way the neighbor looked at him so went and pee'd on his door then smashed his tree stand to hunt in.

Mind you, he is in his mid 40's. My aunt knows of each and everyone of the above episodes and she has the balls to question why he wasnt invited. She told me I was an absolute DISGRACE. Is she for real. The whole family has major drinking problems. They have countless DWI's and have spent so much time in rehab. Why should I even have to justify why they werent invited.
The fact that she told me I was a disgrace really pisses me off.

Re: Are people for real

Some people have a hard time dealing with fact that their children are not angels so they like to blame things on everyone else. She obviously doesn't think there's a problem with his behavior at past weddings if she thinks you are a disgrace.

If that's the way she feels about the subject, you don't need her at the wedding.

Definitely be prepared for a surprise visit though. People who might not have bothered to show up otherwise do so out of spite when they aren't invited!

I don't blame you! I would have told my aunt exactly why he wasn't being invited. Who wants someone creating a big spectacle-especially in front of kids. Good for you standing your ground.

Deb You don't have to justify your decision to anyone, stand firm and don't let your aunt get to you. She is in denial of her son's behavior and I suppose has to stand up for him (she is his mom) but don't let her get to you. Some nerve!!!!!!!!!

Re: Are people for real

you shouldnt justify your actions to anyone! it's YOUR wedding and you'll invite who you want to!!!

you know what's funny? when i first started reading your post and saw that he pulled down his pants and showed everyone his scooby doo underwear, i thought it was a child you were talking about!!!! definitely didnt expect it to be a 40 y/o!!!!

Not even my immature 50 year old cousin could top this. I wouldn't invite your relative to anything!
