Are photobooths tacky?

Original post by cets1290

I got one through incredibooths because I thought it looks sleek and elegant, and also put together props on sticks as opposed to regular props to ensure people don't take them onto the dance floor. My mom freaked out and told me to return it all because its so tacky and takes away from the elegance of a wedding. It was really hurtful because I thought it was a nice way to do wedding favors and thought that putting the placecards in photostrip frames would be really cool and different, but my mom thinks I'm ruining the wedding by having it.

Thoughts??

Are photobooths tacky? - Long Island Weddings

I don't think they are tacky at all. The last wedding I went to had one. It was in there the entire reception and not once was there a line for it lol. People were on the dance floor and if they saw it was open they went over to it. All of the older guests were impressed with it so I don't see how it can be tacky. Nobody is forcing someone to go in there and take pictures lol.

I personally do not like them. I don't like seeing a line for it. I feel like I am paying my DJ enough money to keep people on the dance floor I am not going to spend more money to take them off. I like a more traditional favor personally.

I never thought of photobooths as tacky. We decided to have one at our wedding bc we heard people enjoyed them so much. It was a big hit for us even with the older guests. I don't think it took away from the dancing at all and it was discreetly located in a corner. Check out NY Facebooth. They are awesome!
