Not sure if it is necessary, any suggestions or thoughts about it? What info is important for these things?

They're not necessary, but they're a nice way to let guests at the ceremony know who is in the BP. You would also put the readings that are to be red in it.

You definitely don't need them. I've been to weddings with programs and some without and it was no big deal. It is helpful to be able to follow along though!

Re: Are programs necessary for the church?
I don't think they're necessary for Catholic ceremonies actually...but that is probably because I'm Catholic and familiar with the service and have been to a few church weddings.
I'm actually being married in the Greek Orthodox church, and there's only going to be like 4 or 5 actual Greek Orthodox people attending the ceremony, let alone ones who have seen the ceremony performed before, so 95% of the guests at the church will have no idea what's going on, especially because there is no speaking. In my case, programs were actually pretty necessary, otherwise most of my guests wouldn't know the order, the symbolism, or anything going on.

necessary no
a nice touch... yes- especially if you will have people there that have never been to your religions wedding. It will help them follow along

Also, a former bride from here has been helping me make my programs, FM me if you want info - VERY affordable.

I think it depends how long the ceremony is. If it's longer than 20 min/half hour, guests will want to know what's going on.
