I see so many of you talking about programs. When I go to a wedding, I always take one, but I never take it home I usually leave it on the chair after the ceremony is over. Do any of you ever take them home?

Re: Are programs really necessary????
Lately everyone has them. They were never as popular as they are now. My mom takes them home to give me ideas.

I think it really depends on your relationship to the couple. I guess if you are really close, you might keep it as a memento. Otherwise, some guests might not. They are really popular now.

I don't think they're really necessary... HOWEVER... I'm having a very traditional orthodox jewish ceremony and we have alot of guests that are not jewish who will not understand what is happening. Luckily my sister got married 3 years ago, and I've just been able to copy her program!

I only save the ones that grab me. My friend handed them out and explained what they were doing at the ceremonyalong with the relegious meaning behind the things they did.
I am also a sappy quote sucker so I keep ones with great sayings.

What are CD programs?
I am making regular programs. I know only a few will keep them, but I like them. I think they are a nice touch and not everyone there will know who all the people in the BP are. I like that the program gives us an opportunity to list that as well as lets people follow along with the ceremony.
Programs are usually really nice and pretty. But I've been to weddings without them plenty of times. I'm looking for ways to save money and have been seriously thinking of not having them. I know personally that I don't usually take them with me, and if I do, the next time I clean up around the house they ususlly get tossed out with all the extra papers that always lie around.

Re: Are programs really necessary????
They are not necessary, but I like how it looks having them. I usually bring them home and throw them away there. I know the time/money that goes into making them, and I would hate to leave it there for the bride to see. If it's a relative though, I keep it and scrapbook it with the wedding photos.

Re: Are programs really necessary????
Yeah. It's a good way of recognizing the special people in your life. Parents, bridal party, readers, grandparents. It also shows what to expect from the ceremony.
