So I found invites that I like really like and I was pricing them out.
I was wondering if it's absolutely necessary to include Reception Cards along with the invitations? I have seen invitations where it's stated on the bottom:
'Reception to Follow at Riviera seven o'clock in th evening'
Plus I am planning on including direction cards which will also have the address to the reception hall.
So what do you girls think?
TIA!

Re: Are Reception Cards necessary?
I think if your ceremony is at the RH then it isn't necessary. If you have a church service then off to the RH then yeah i think they are

Re: Are Reception Cards necessary?
its really your personal opinion. if you have your heart set on a specific invite & adding reception cards are going to put you over budget then adding it to the bottom is fine.
i personally feel that the invite with the ceremony info is really what the wedding is about. so thats why i wanted that front & center

that's exactly what I did and it worked fine. - - you put on the invite the rh name and give them directions - - they should be able to figure it out.
if you do include a reception card that also adds to the weight and could bump your postage to the next level.

Re: Are Reception Cards necessary?
I'm personally a traditionalist and like the separate card. I'm totally aware of and agree on saving money here and there, but if I got an invite like that in the mail I'd probably think 'cheap', especially if the rest of the wedding was all traditional. I'd probably opt for cheaper cards and do separate rather than put on all one card. However, if you're having an ultra-non-traditional wedding then I think it could work.

I don't think it matters as long as you have somewhere where the reception is!! It is all a personal preferance!

I think your idea is just fine. People won't think twice about it.

ITA. I think Reception Cards are used mostly when the ceremony is at a different location than the RH. I think lots of brides who have the ceremony at their RH put the reception information on the main invite. They will list the ceremony information and then indicate 'Reception Immediately Following'

Re: Are Reception Cards necessary?
my invite said it on the bottom, and we enclosed the card with directions provided by the country club.....it made life easier. (aka cheaper) We got a lot of compliments on our invites!

Re: Are Reception Cards necessary?
I think I'm just going to be putting at the bottom of the invite, too. It's going to say 'Dinner & dancing to follow at Jericho Terrace' though since it's such a late reception and I want guests to KNOW there is going to be dinner served.

Re: Are Reception Cards necessary?
I think it depends. We are having our ceremony at the RH so on the invitation we just said reception to follow and we did not have reception cards
