Are table menus necessary Opinions please

do you realy need them, or is it one more thing to do. My tables are going to be really busy as is with the centerpiece and favors i dont want to take away from that and i hate cluttered tables. SO if i dont do them is it an inconvenience

I dont think they are necessary at all (even though I plan on doing them - well see what happens when time gets closer!)

My hall is providing the table menus. But I think you have to have some sort of menu, otherwise, how would people know what to order?

I am going through a not so nice time trying to coordinate hiring someone to do them or making them myself. They are a nice touch but they are just also one of those things that as a Bride we need to take care of. If I get some help from LIW Brides and if I think I can fly at making them myself I will do them, if not...OFF THE LIST THEY WILL GO!!!

They are not NECESSARY... but as a guest I think menus are definately very helpful. The past 3 weddings I went to had menus and they just made things easier for both the guests and the waitstaff. I think I am going to do them now.

Although we are planning to have them, I don't remember ever going to a reception that had them, and we all figured out what we were eating.

They are not necessary but when I went to meet with my BM on Monday and I told him that I was making menus, he was so excited. He said that with all the people and noise that it is hard for the waiters to resight the menu to each guest so with preprinted menus they can see what the choices are.

Looking at my out of control budget(I need to save about 12,000!!!!by next July), I think my guests will just have to figure it out!

We planned to make them and bought the paper....and at the last minute decided not to. Sounds silly but I couln't figure out how to display them...the napkins were wrapped in a ribbon and I didn't want to cover it (we paid extra for that) so I just let myself off the hook and nixed the idea. We only had two choices for dinner...filet or salmon...it was easy!

I had them made. I think it's a good choice to have them so that the guests don't have to ask the server what the choices are over and over again. And anyway, they looked so pretty on the tables.

Honestly, I can't be bothered. I'm making the seating cards and favors. I rather not. Look at it this way...the choice of food will be a surprise!!!

Are they necessary? - no. But, if it's something you would like to do, it can be a nice touch.

I don't think they are necessary, but the catering manager at my hall told me it makes the waitstaff and kitchen much more efficient, and makes it more feasible that everyone will be served closer together timewise, rather then one side of the wedding finishing a meal while the other is waiting to get served......

we didnt do them, and noone noticed. there were other things that we put the effort into rather then menu's and these other things were the one's that ppl really commented on and noticed.

I don't think they are necessary, but I have been to a few occasions where they are there and its so nice to be able to decide BEFORE the waitstaff comes... and then they don't have to go through all the choices for people :)

I am planning on making them... but I am also bored! :)

not necessary, but a nice touch. I got quite a few compliments on mine. Mine were placed on the butter plates, so they didn't look cluttered. You can't really even see them in the photos
