Are there any Brooklyn Brides out there??

Hey ladies!

Ive been looking at BM dresses for the past few days and all these horror stories are scaring me! Can anyone give me advice or recommendations on where they purchased their BM dresses? I need the place to be reliable but not charge and arm and a leg! Im paying for all eight dresses so I kind of want to stay at about 150
TIA!

Valentina Bridal on New Utrecht Ave at 77th Street. Deborah helped us out and she's a doll. They range in price though.
Good Luck!

I used Doris for a friend's wedding...forgot about them. Reasonably priced.

I wouldn't go to Lestan's - we got our BM dresses from there for my sister's wedding and it was a horrible experience. They never return phone calls and just always have an attitude.

Doris fashions have been great. they gave me the best price and Lana has been a pleasure to work with! no complaints so far.

THANK YOU!!! I went to Doris as well and worked with Lana , however it just sounds too good to be true! I went to Valentina's also they were very nice but because I'm paying for the dresses it was kind of out of my league. Thanks for the advice on Lestans! I guess off to Doris!

I second that. They have a huge selection and lower prices then others. Also, Doris Fashions is really good. Lana will beat the price of othe stores and order the dress for you if they don't carry it.

Re: Are there any Brooklyn Brides out there??

once we decided on a dress i called every store i could find.
Valentinas is expensive & they really weren't willing to give us a big break, even though i ordered my dress there & so did my mom.
Doris will work with you on the price & Lana is wonderful. my problem with that store is that when we went to look there it had a moldy smell. & a friend of mine purchased dresses from them for her wedding & all the dresses smelt like mold.
Kellys was the biggest rip off. she gave us a great quote on bridesmaids dress if i purchased my dress from her. then i found out that she was trying to charge me $1,000 more then Valentina was for my dress. not to mention her nasty attitude.

i have heard good things about Lestans but we never went to look there. we ended up ordering from Adriennes Bridesmaid in Manhattan. it was easier to take the train into the city one day then deal with these other stores.

I'm from Brooklyn, but we ordered the girls dresses from Here Comes the Bridesmaids in the city. Since your paying for the dresses, I would suggest you try out places in the city also.

Doris was actually pretty good. I love Alexandra Boutique in Queens though!

I got my dress at Valentina, but the BMs dress seem to be very expensive there.

I'd check out Lotus Bridal on Avenue U. I got my BM dress there for another friend's wedding two years ago, and they were great.
