Are there any *good* venues that offer 40-50pp?
My fiancee and I *just* got engaged a few weeks ago and I am researching locations. I've found a few that will do the reception for 40-55per person, however I don't know if they're any good.We are expecting 100 guests and are paying for everything all on our own. We're looking for small but tasteful and are looking to have the ceremony on the same grounds as the reception. Also, we're not devoted to a wedding in October, we would like any time in the Fall or Spring.
I'd appreciate any help.

Congrats on your engagement! We're paying for everything ourselves too, and I know how stressful that can be. Would you consider a winter wedding? A lot of places have cheaper rates Jan - March since it is not peak wedding season.Check out Captain Bill's in Bay Shore, they might fall in your budget for an October wedding.

Re: Are there any *good* venues that offer 40-50pp?
all inclusive venue are the way to go! for about $100/pp you get your entire wedding! venue, food, wedding cake, dj, photo, video, limo and usually sone centerpieces.here's a link to a thread with a list. all inclusive venues
other wise sunset harbour was the only one that I know of that was $55++ but the menu was really small and that was for winter dates. jan, feb or mar!
good luck and congrats!!
ETA: I paid $35/pp for a plain old knight of Columbus in hicksville for my parents 25 wedding anniversary.... that was 5years ago. so too b honest $50/pp is going to be hard the best your gonna find is $50/pp ++ which really equals $65/pp! just a heads up!
ps... love your user name!! clearly I was in the same boat! fm me if u wantto ask anything!!

Great point about winter - we were set on a September wedding until we realized how expensive everything was bc it's peak season. We saved about $15pp just by switching to a winter wedding! (Which I am now excited about bc winter weddings can be very elegant.)

I went to a wedding at Tosca Marquee and it's so underrated. Best food I have ever had at a wedding. I don't live close otherwise I would have went to their restaurant for dinner. It's small but tasteful like you wanted. They have a rooftop area for cocktail hour but not sure they can accommodate ceremony. It's definitely worth looking into!

I know this is above the price you said but I'm doing October at the Riviera in Massapequa for $65pp. This includes the centerpieces and some add on they threw in which saved us a lot of money.

Def aim for a winter wedding (pick a friday night or sunday tends to be cheaper)or all inclusive places (Mediterranean Manor, Ariana Waterfalls, Cottage East Wind (winter packages), Miller Place Inn, Giorgios (winter package), sunset harbour, or stuart Manor. I have only been to Mediterranean Manor and Ariana Falls. As for vendors, if you don't do all inclusive def shop around, scale down on certain things, & negotiate. Good luck!Welcome New Vendors
