ARE THERE ANY LAWYERS ON THIS SITE? UPDATED with reason
Originally I was not going to post what this is about but I need advice from a legal prospective.
Back in Feb. FH and I purchased our weddings bands. It took until April for my ring to come in b.c it was a special order. At the time I made the purchase I was not making the best decisions due to family illness's etc, and I know the retailers don't care about that stuff or need to hear it.. but it's the truth. Their policy is no returns or exchanges after 90 days of purchase. I knew that when I went to the store yesterday but the sales rep said it was ok, they would accept the exchange as long as we do an exchange of equal or greater value and the exchange items would be final.. Fine, we left yesterday and told them we would be back today. We made sure to have them write this on our receipt and sign it! FH and I went back today as planned to do the exchange.. and we were told that the District Manager called the store ( the DM is in their Queens store) and said that they will not allow the exchange. Ok.. so why did they tell us just yesterday that they would allow it and write it on the receipt as well and now they are going back on the aggrement?! Now I know they are right about the policy issue BUT the fact that they said they would make an exception and told us we can, we have written proof and now the DM tells them not to accept the exchange is just wrong! FH is going to the store where this District manager is to speak to her in person and fight it.. and show her our receipt where it's a written aggreement.. I just wanted to know from a legal standpoint, if they can get away with this?! Thanks ladies
PS I asked the sales rep that we dealt with originally if this news was given to you this morning, WHY did we not receive a phone call with this news right away... I got a run around answer...![]()
