Are these shoes appropriate for my wedding?

Original post by prncssrachel

Let me first say that if I could, I would wear flip flops under my dress, but my mother would KILL me, so these are the closest thing I could find. Are they cheesey? Be honest please, I don't have my heart set or anyhting. I think I might buy the flip flops to change into, anyway!

The notch in these kind of matches your dress. I know it's not open-toe, but they caught my eye for you.

I really like the ones jannshari posted. They go w/ your dress so well. IMO i dont like open toed shoes for formal wedding.

i also think the ones jannshari posted would be beautiful with your dress. the others are also beautiful but i agree that your dress might get stuck in the shoe or you might trip. i you do choose open toed i really like the first ones. but i think you should go with the closed toe IMO good luck!!

i love the first shoes, but i'm still against it b/c mules are hard to be stable in.

I think they are really pretty. I feel the same way about shoes - I wanted to wear ballet slippers, but everyone I told was horrified. So I ended up getting shoes that are like ballet slippers. I think you should wear whatever makes you happy. How many people are going to see your shoes anyway?

first of all, I love all these shoes!

i know how you feel about wanting an open-toed shoe.. i desparately wish I could wear my flip flops all day long, since it'll be late July when we get married.

I actually bought open-toed shoes, and I also needed a really low heel. These are so pretty but just didn't look 'right' with my dress..

so i wound up with these, which i love. though i might be wearing peds also, since i'm trying NOT to wear pantyhose

Both from myglassslipper.com

I am switching to THESE at the reception!

though I LOVE the ones jannshari posted, they were made for your dress!!

good luck!!

Re: Are these shoes appropriate for my wedding?

A friend of mine threw on brown chunky flip flops under her dress a half an Hr. Into her Wedding. She told me she was gonna do it but, I didn't believe her. She said her dress is long & you'll never see them(similar 2 your dress on the bottom.)
She had 2 lift her dress 2 show me cause I never saw the switch go down. So I doubt you'll see them. I recently saw a bride lift her dress 2 show off hyped up platform sneakers w/ beading & ribbon... U also couldn't see them when the dress was down. But honestly as much as I love a French pedi w/a slammin pair of open toe shoes. Your dress would look killer w/ a pair of pointy (not even so hi) closed toe heels. W/maybe a sling back strap or a T-Strap up the front.
nevermind the hose put half inserts that R like foam or Gel in the shoe 4 extra comfort & use the half peds or even the full ped depending on the shoe.
The shoe w/ the V does match your dress nicely... But, there just a little 2 granny-ish 4 me. No offense 2 anyone else out there.
As a back-up bring comfee shoes 4 later 2 switch into.
Good Luck Sista:bride
