I heard that too, there is a chance of a hurricane and the radio said to go shopping and stock up on things that you might need like water and flashlights.

I heard them say that it would lose strength because our water is too cold. They don't know what its going to do.
I heard its (Isabel) about a week a way from land...and it is as bad as Hurricane Andrew (that hit FL)
it all depends on the direction it takes...by remember the ocean water is warm in Aug-Sept...so there is a chance it could sustain up to NY

The few hurricanes that hit the NY area in September weren't too bad. We just had a lot of rain. We may experience a lot of flooding. But my father and step-mother moved to the coast of North Carolina about a year ago and it looks like Isabel may hit there. I guess the only things we can do is be prepared and informed, and pray.

as long as it is not the weekend of the 27th I will be fine -
its not scheduled to hit land until next sat...and it would probably take a few days to a week to get upto NY
not to get anyone upset, but the biggest hurricanes ny gets is in aug/sept...think gloria...probably the last biggie for ny...

ladies please please say a blessing.... a prayer.... It is supposed to hit NYC on Friday!!! All of my geusts!!! my vendors!!!! I have been crying all day!!!! Apparently no one wanted to tell me and was keeping the weather channel from me!!!
