I can't remember wedding programs from any wedding I have ever been to. Do you think they will be missed if we chose to not have them?

You don't need programs. It's totally up to you. They are a nice touch, but don't step further in to the red for them It comes to the point where enough is enough and you have to make some tough decisions.

No, but I do think they're a nice keepsake for scrapbooks.

Re: are wedding programs necessary?
unless you can do them VERY cheaply - totally not worth it.
I tend to keep mine for a month and then toss them....(meaning other people's weddings i've attended)

Re: are wedding programs necessary?
Not necessary. We are probably going to do them, but DIY so it will be cheap.

#1 You are not computer retarded you just typed here!!!!
Personally I like the idea of them and they can be done REAL cheap you can get a pack of cute ones at Micheals or JoAnns (like $10). They have templates you go online to the company website download the template for what you bought (usually a Microsoft Word one) and just retype your info in it. EASY.....

Re: are wedding programs necessary?
I think it depends on the type of ceremony you are having.
Our was interfaith, and we really wanted our guests to be able to follow along and understand the significance of all the aspects of the ceremony that we included.

I really don't have the time to do them, but I honestly think they are a distraction and will not be missed JMO

Re: are wedding programs necessary?
IMHO, if your ceremony is longer than 10 minutes, I say yes. IF it's a church ceremony I say definitely. People need something to read/do during the ceremony. It's nice to follow along and to read the names of the bridal party and readers/gift bearers if that applies. They don't have to be pricey. Can probably do it for about 20 dollars at kinkos.

We are going to make them on the computer and buy the paper from Michael's. Virtually no cost to us.
