Are you afraid....

to sometimes tell your FH what a certain vendor is costing and even though you love this vendor to death, you still afraid he's gonna say no??

FH gave me a budget for our photographer. It's about $1000 under what HE wants. I got a big NO NO NO from him.

What to do?? What to do??

Do you guys have similar scenerios with your FH???

We had that problem with my parents. They had no clue how much photographers cost and vetoed everplace that we went to.

We ended up negotiating with the photographer, told them how much we wanted to spend and what we wanted...worked for us, they really worked with us.

not really because we set a budget and if we go over on one we go under on another...

it helps having this board b/c then I'll stay away from the pricier vendors and try not pay attention to what everyone else is getting.

so you want to go over $1000 on photo, then go under $300 on DJ, under $500 on flowers and under $100 on invites, and under $100 on favors, or whatever...

You can make it work..

that's my advice as well. we're over on all our vendors but that's because the budgets we were given by programs just don't make sense for long island.
everything costs a lot more than we realized.

however, my parents are basically paying for the wedding and they gave us a budget that we can definitily work with as long as we cut costs on other things...
for instance we're over by like $1000 on photo and video, but that's fine b/c we wont be spending much of flowers...

perhaps if you show him average prices for the vendors he'll realize that it's not as much money as he thinks

we had a deal since the beginning

he's paying for the RH from his savings and I am pating for the vendors with my saving

then we are splitting the honeymoon

so if we go over on our vendor its no ones fault but our own!

lol happened once or twice but then i just turned around and said I'll pay for it since its what i want and that ends the conversation. He still makes faces about the price of my dress and i don't know why, i tell him 'did you pay for any of it, then don't complain'

i figured its the easiest solution

I am afraid of telling FH what I am adding for our CH, its ok he doesnt need to know, he wont even notice, if he does I will say we got it for free Vendor wise, I can do whatever I want, he doesnt care

ahahaha the dress, my FH too, its ok to stretch the truth a bit, hahahahah. I know I tell FH, Im the one paying for it, not you so you dont need to know

yeah i ended up telling himhow much but now he uses it in his defense...see ill spend money on things for the wedding now but with everything else im good, i dont go shopping alot and save my money, he is a shopaholic so when i say things he just says uhmmm X amount for a dress you can't say anything lol which he is wrong bc at the same time IM SAVING!!!!

I wanted to add photo journalism...and FH could care less about photo's.......so i added it and have to pay for it But in the end..we are both paying for it!

If thats the photographer you want, then do it. FH should not have a say!!! (just kidding)My FH makes a face at prices but when we vistited vendors and RH he barely said I word!!! My thing is, if you work or and you can manage spending whatever...Do what u want, dont regret it!
