yes..we stopped getting big gifts awhile ago...we usually get something small but meaningful or just go to a nice restaurant

i think we will still exchange something small. it's a pain b/c our birthdays are 11/22 and 11/23 and then christmas just a month later. i'm going to suggest something small, and just christmas (i'm the responsible one with $$$ - frightening)

We're thinking about just taking a trip to Vegas and not doing gifts this year. The trip would be this month though, not actually ON Christmas lol!

we will exchange but something smaller than normal....
gifts with the family might be cut down a bit also - there are WAY too many cousins to buy for (from my fam)....his niece and nephew from Italy are coming so entertaining them will add up also!
besides, I am going to be an auntieeeee in April so have to start saving $ for diaperssss!!

we always have this discussion on what to buy eachother for occasions. whenever we want something we just buy it.. so we have evrything we need. the gifts lately have been events.
like for my bday he took me to see the little mermaid. i like gifts like that.. cuz they are amazing memories... material items dont excite me anymore. especially after my ering...

I've told him that maybe we should not bother with xmas gifts this year because the wedding is just a few weeks later, but he still wants to do it but we agreed to only spend between 50 and 100 on each other.

we will still exchange gifts with each other. we will not be spending nearly as much as we normally do.
as far as with our families, we will still be purchasing something on the expensive side for FMIL (she pays for all of our groceries so its a way to thank her). as for my family, we already purchased these really cute Lenox items for my mom & my dad only wants home made gifts. for my sister i am going to try to convince FH that me, him, her & her boyfriend go to a Gluten Free Restaurant. (she has celiac disease & would love that). i will probably get my SIL pajamas & my brother a PSP game. we already bought for my nieces (beach bags & pajamas). & we will get my nephew a new video game.

FH and will something small for eachother, and we do a Holiday Yankee Swap (Dirty Santa) game for $25 a person. We end up buying gifts for the kids.

We will not be, FH is already annoyed cuz he loves gifts, but money is tight especially around the wedding.
We will also be cutting out the cousins. I know it sounds bad, but we used to spend around 20-30 on each litle cousin (14 cousins between us both) but, we can't afford this this year. I will be baking all the kids cookies or something cute because we just can't afford to spend 200+ dollars on gifts for them

Im setting a limit of $50 bucks or less for the family and I just told FH that I spend enough on his EARLY wedding present ( tickets to see the Raiders play the Giants on sunday) that I am not getting him anything more then $50 for his birthday which is 3 weeks b4 xmas or xmas. I will probably spend a little more on FH nephew and the babies in our family. I have to limit I always go over board on presents and who knows if we are getting holiday bonuses this year.

FH and I probably won't exchange. He didn't even get me anything for my bday in July Took me two weeks of making him feel guilty to even get my card. Not happy about that. Apparently an e-ring negates FH's from getting further gifts. Soooo, I'm not expecting much for Christmas, or our 3 yr. anniversary for that matter, which is this month. Can you tell I'm still a little bitter? LOL

We're going to each get each other stuff off of our registry. Nothing too crazy...
I'm only going to do immediate family and keep it to no more than $50 each.
