Just curious... or are you going to make your first grand entrance when the DJ/band introduces you at the reception?

Yes, we plan on going to the CH about 20-30 minutes before the reception. We can start to say our hellos there.

YES!! We went to the cocktail hour and I highly recommend it!! A lot of the greetings were out of the way right there and our guests broke into applause when they saw us. It was awesome. And the entrance to the reception will be special regardless!
ETA: We went to the CH, but were still announced at the reception. IMO one doesn't cancel out the other.

We did for about 20 minutes - it was great to greet some people earlier since it gave us more time to be together during the reception.

yes we are going to mingle during CH....i dont want to spend the whole reception walking table to table, so im hoping to say hi to everyone during the CH

I am going to make my grand entrance when the band introduces us - I want ppl who didnt see me at church to be curious as to how i look and i also want to relax during the CH - and spend it with the bridal party - bc that will prob be the only time throughout the while day i will be relaxing!!

We mingled the last 30 minutes of the CH. It gave us an opportunity to talk to a bunch of people. We didn't want to spend the whole reception going around from table to table.

We went to the last half hour of CH. I was so glad I did because I had more time to party! We were still introduced into the reception as well.

I never was going to until my MOH did it at hers... and I realized it was a great way to say HI to lots of people and even snack on a couple of things before the reception!

I'm planning on going so then I can dance the night away at the reception. I still plan on getting introduced as I walk into the reception. We'll probably stay in the bridal suite for a little while and enjoy some of the cocktail hour food because I'm sure we won't be able to enjoy it much at the actual cocktail hour!

We're not mingling during our cocktail hour. We'll be in a huge bridal suite with our bridal party and we're having the same exact cocktail hour food give or take a plate or 2 so we won't be missing out on anything.

Originally we did not plan on mingling during our CH but while taking pictures in the lobby a large number of our guests had already seen us in addition to that my DH wanted to check out the cocktail hour being we paid for it, why not enjoy it? I am so happy we decided to mingle with our guests during CH because we got all our hello's out of the way and were able to fully enjoy the rest of our evening.
Think about it...you have to greet a large number of people which can be time consuming, why waste most the reception time greeting people which takes away from the most important night of your lives?

We deliberately changed our ceremony location and time so we could go to CH. FH loves to eat and doesn't want to miss it. He also wants to get all hellos out of the way.
