Are you buying a gift for your readers?

Are you buying a gift for your readers?

I have two readers, one from Florida who will not be making the rehearsal dinner, but the other is FH's sister who I think we should get something for. I decided not to get something for my friend from FL since I will not see her until the wedding day & in the midst of the day, I don't think she'll be wondering where her gift is!! I'm just concerned about his sister. What are you ladies doing?

I wasn't sure about this either so I'm interested in what people have to say about this...

We didn't. It can get out of hand. Obviously, they were at the rehersal dinner. I felt that was enough.

FH feels we don't need to - I just don't want her feeling left out. We got the parents, BP & kids gifts....My nieces/nephew are in the bp, but FH's are not. So I got them gifts just so they don't feel left out & they are helping hand out programs at the church anyway.

I plan on getting a small gift for the readers to give them at the rehearsal dinner. I think I'm going to get nice bookmarks and maybe one of those books about friendship or something like that.

I did. I got a set of 3 small lenox frames. They were like $30 w/tax.

Yes, I'm just not sure what yet.

We just got each of our readers an inexpensive picture frame. We wanted to give them a small token, but didn't want it to get out of hand.

Our main readers (our Uncles) each got a bottle of wine, the younger readers for the prayer of the faithful got stuff from the Bath and Body shop (I hit one of their sales).

Yes, I plan to. Maybe a GC or something small.

I did. I had one female reader and I bought her a cute necklace/earring set. I had two male readers, who are big into hunting, so I got them a gift relevant to that.

I think it's necassary. Other's will disagree of course and that's ok :) You do what you feel comfy with. I've been a reader in other's weddings and always received a gift.

We brought our readers (who were our aunts) each a picture frame and then our picture taken with each one of them at the wedding and gave them the picture to put in the frame.

They were invited to the RD with thier dates/husbands and on the day of the wedding after the reading they were handed a long stem pink rose that matched my bouquet!

I have been a reader before and didn't get a gift and so opted not to give gifts to my two readers. It is hard to know where to draw the line.
