Participation songs (electric slide, cha cha slie, conga line)?

The only thing like that we are doing is for the father/daughter dance-- after the first chorus we will invite FH and his mom up, then after the next chorus invite all moms/sons and fathers/daughters up to join us..
I really don't like the idea of people starign at me for yet another whole song on the dancefloor and FH can't dance.

Hi,
I am doing a soul train line, cha cha slide, electric slide, and i dont think i am going to do a second song for other couples to come on the dance floor. Once my song is over Let the party begin.

I get really bored watching the bride and groom for the whole first dance, and I would love to share the floor with them and 'have their support' in a way, so I am having them join half way through. I guess I'm just corny that way!

After a minute into our first dance, we are going to have our parents join..and then shortly after that we will invite everyone else up to join...

I dont think the guests will join us the first time we do our dance together - but we are dancing to a special song a second time and they will at that point.
We are doing most of the participation dances - we think they are corny but its what gets most people up and dancing.

We had guests join us for our first dance after the first verse. We did the electric slide and YMCA, those were the only two interactive dances we did.

Call it peer pressure but mom is insisting on the chicken dance...apparently it's 'expected'...lots of old folk coming to the wedding so I guess it's better than watching them do the electric slide! FH and I are choreographing our first dance so it'll just but us up there.

Originally I was very against having people join us for our first dance.. But I think it also take a lot of pressure off you if they join in after a minute or so.
I am VERY against those group dances... YMCA, electric slide etc. But my fh really wants them And his mother is insisting on having the Italian Chicken dance

For our wedding, since we chose a long song (5mins), we had the bridal party join half way thru, and then the guests 'as a blessing to the newlyweds, each couple that dances adds one more year of happiness to the newlyweds'.
Also, we had absolutely NO cliché songs. DH did not want it at all... and quite frankly, no one missed it. We all had SO much fun regardless.

We took dancing lessons and danced out first dance alone....it was the longest 2 and a half minutes of our lives. We had a second song played where our friends and family joined us. I did not have any group dances but the DJ and MC did this group cirlce dance thing (tarantella etc.) with us in the middle. It was actualy kind of fun.

ETS: I'm trying to figure out a way to do the anniversary dance, but its not going to be easy since FH's grandparents are the likely winners, but his grandmother is confined to a wheelchair.

No - no 'organized' dancing of any sort. We'll each dance with our respective parents - but that's it. We will ask people to join us during our first dance - since I really hate being the absolute center of attention.
