Participation songs (electric slide, cha cha slie, conga line)?

I get really bored watching the bride and groom for the whole first dance, and I would love to share the floor with them and 'have their support' in a way, so I am having them join half way through. I guess I'm just corny that way!
That's what we did. I think everyone gets bored watching.

I am considering on inviting others to join the first dance.. but not sure what I decided on that one.
As for the 'participation' dances, definately not! No conga line, or any of that in my wedding!
The only thing we'll do is the chair raising dance.

Me and FH are dancing the first dance alone. We are doing the 'dance on a cloud' through Tommy's Tunes and for insurance reasons, no one else can be on the floor.
I'm also not doing any chicken dance or anything like that. I've always hated them!

We just had the bridal party join us for the first dance.
I reluctantly, agreed to the Electric Slide and Cotton Eyed Joe. I'm glad I did. Everyone had a blast and it got people (the older single woman) up on the floor. It was the only songs they danced to.

We had people join us about a minute into our first dance (which was fine because we were all out of dance moves.) The only group dances we had were the Hora and the Tarantella.

We had people join us for the first dance (after about a minute?) - it was the only time that every one of our guests was on the dance floor.
We didn't do any group dances, but they always look like fun.

It's kinda like a fog machine, only using dry ice. It looks really cool.

I don't think so- well we are doing the Anniversary dance for the garter and bouquet (instead of the toss) but other than that, no.

FH and I were just trying to decide this the other day, we've decided that the first dance will be only us but we haven't totally agreed about the participation songs!!

no chicken dance etc, i don't like them, we are dancing half the first song alone, then having just the bridal party join, then we are going to play a second slow song to have everyone join us
