It will cost us another $2500 ontop of our nearly $7000 wedding fotog package to get video. We are broke. I am worried we will miss video though if we don't get it. Are you doing video?

Re: Are you doing video?
YES I totally recommend getting video. There are sooo many moments that take place that you won't realize until you see the video. It's really like getting to live your wedding all over again (well, almost lol) and watch everyone having fun and watch yourself saying your vows.. it is priceless!!!!! Sooo worth it!!!! Maybe hire a separate videographer who is a little less expensive? 2500 seems high to me for just video.

Re: Are you doing video?
I absolutely did the video because i wanted to relive the day with actual moving footage that pictures cant give you. ive heard alot of brides say theyve regretted not getting video. $2500 sounds like alot. the videographer i used was Halo video and my package was $1200...it wasnt top of the line like Pennylane but I'm sure they caught all the moments I dont want to forget.

Re: Are you doing video?
My husband, Gregory owns a film company called Pip Productions. He is new to the wedding industry (not to filming and editing). His introductory prices range from 3-500 for raw video to 1500 for multiple copies of a highly crafted and edited 'movie' of your day. His style is natural, artistic and unobtrusive. If you are interested in meeting with him, please let me know and I'll set you up with an appointment. Or, you can give me your wedding day details and I'll price out an estimate for you. Thanks and happy planning....

i agree, the day goes by so fast and there are moments you miss...Even small stuff, such as obviously not seeing your bp and parents making their RH entrances. I see the pics and laugh at some of the things but wish i was able to see it, or entrances into the church. Im also going tolove to see DH getting ready at home that day. Or i look at the pics of BIL giving his speech and i think what was i histerically laughing at. You dont remember things word for word so im going tolove to see it again. Plus seeing us exchange vows. It is such a surreal moment, and while its happening you feel almost as if its not really happening lol, you have so many emotions going on so will be nice to sit back and watch us exchanging vows.
I agree that you can hire a separate videographer, there are those who will do it for less than 2500 ALSO another important thing to remember that even if video is $2500 you only pay half of it now so you wouldnt be paying $2500 or whatever the price is if you go with another videographer, you would pay $1250 now and then the other half when you pick up your video. And if its less than that, lets say you get video for $1500 then you only pay $750 now...thats how it was with my videographer, half you pay before the wedding then the other half you pay months later when you get your videos

Re: Are you doing video?
You should try to find another package. My video is not costing that much. I feel like I would regret not having the video after the wedding was over.

Re: Are you doing video?
definitely check out Halo; I decided a few months before to get video but i didn't want to spend $$$$ and Halo is reasonable; i got a basic package for $900 I think and like denise said I only had to pay $450 before and i pay the other half when I pick up the video.

Re: Are you doing video?
I would do video to capture your day! It would be fun to look back on your day and see everyone! Something you can cherish for the rest of your life! Can you try to look up just a videographer? My photographer does Video work..and is reasonable..if you are interested Fm me! Good Luck!

Re: Are you doing video?
absolutly!!!! this was 1 thing i knew i needed to have from the beginning with all the cutting costs i would sacrifice my flowers before the video...there is so much during the day you dont get to see or cant remember lol i really wanted to see everyone having a good time and see what i missed!!
ETA: i agree 2500 seems ALOT just for video.....

Re: Are you doing video?
we are getting the video....
our reasoning was we're spending so much $ on the wedding..we should have another outlet to have the memories of this day....live moments that a picture cant capture. and yes...sometimes videos can be boring...but it will be your video and your memory.
a way to save some $ is to buy those disposable video cameras from cvs and assign different people to capture clips of the important moments (vows, kiss, first dance, cake cutting etc).
but either way...i say definately have something cuz u wont regret it!

Re: Are you doing video?
We booked video because I know they day will just fly by. It will be nice to have it to look back on in the future. For reference mine was around $1500 which includes 2 videographers at church ceremony and then one for photos and remainder of the evening.
Shop around, check craigslist or even a local college w/ a video/av department.
