I thankfully have a very understanding FH ....I am keeping my last name ...which is my exhusbands....I want the same last name as my children ......I may end up with a hyphen or something.....But I want to keep my boys comfortable

i think you are doing the right thing. it can be so confusing for children.
FH's mom did that, even her phone was listed as her xhusbands name, so that growing up and parents/teachers etc calling to talk to her about FH wouldnt be confused.

I have no brothers., so it will end with my dad. I mean my dad has tons of brothers..and I have a very common last name....but still., im loosing a part of him .

nope - changing it!!! I will have a color word in my new last name which it extremely benificial considering I teacher first grade ha ha ha ha
