Are you going to, or did you invite your officiant to reception??
I can't figure out if I'm supposed to invite my rabbi to our reception. I don't even know if he's married or where he lives, so would have to mail it to the temple.
What did you girls do?

Newp. She can come to the CH if she likes...but I don't see why I would invite her to the reception. I'm not paying her out the azz to officiate and then paying another $141 for her to eat lol

When we go to our final meeting we are going to ask him if he would like to stay for the reception.

We actually asked the rabbi during a meeting and he said, 'Well are you doing kosher?' We said no and then he said he couldn't stay!

our Rabbi is not invited ... he's getting paid to officiate, not to hang out with us and our guests!

we did and he attended, but mainly because he is a good friend of my aunt so he was able to sit with them

Same here. I may run into a problem with FMIL because he is a friend of hers and he baptised our son but I am giving him a generous donation. I am not going to give him that and pay for him to eat. He is welcome to stay for cocktail hour but then he has to go.

We invited FH's pastor. We gave him an invite the day we asked him to officiate. I don't know if he'll actually stay though because we plan to play music and have dancing during the reception, which is a no, no, in his religion.

we didn't because he was not a priest we grew up with he had just transfered to our church about 4 months before our wedding
