Are you going to save your dress after the wedding?

Are you going to save your dress after the wedding?

After her wedding, my sister said she just didn't see a need to hold on to her dress. Are you going to save your dress?

I voted save and pass to daughter - BUT it will be in another form. I plan on having christening outfits made from my wedding dress. I would NEVER expect my daughter to actually wear my wedding dress. She's entitled to her own!

i voted save and pass to daughter...BUT i won't pressure her to wear the dress...if she wants to that's wonderful, but if she finds something else that she LOVES then great...i would never pressure my daughter into wearing my wedding dress...she's going to have her own personality and identity..

I would like to pass it on to daughter..but she may hate it or it may be waaayyy out of style...

My dress will definitely NOT be in style. I know a lot of Catholic brides will save their trains to make christening gowns for their children. I think thats so lovely!

I dont know yet what I'm going to do!!! I don't even know if I'm going to have a daughter of my own, and my 2 future stepdaughters should have the excitement of going to the bridal shop someday and picking out their own dress!!

I am going to keep it and get it preserved. If I have a daughter, it will be fun for her to put it on when she is ready to get married. I doubt she will want to wear it. More for dress up. Maybe we will make it a christing dress for my grand kids.
I want to keep it, it will be special to me! I wish my mother still had her wedding dress, I would of liked to see it. I put my FMIL wedding gown on just for fun. She has to boys, so I am like the daughter she never had.

Ok ladies, this sounds crazy, but, since my dress is 2 pieces, I am throwing my ivory halter top with the sash into my suitcase and wearing it on my honeymoon!!!!!!!!!!!!! The skirt will be made into dresses for Christening/ Communion outfits for daughter or goddaughters.

I plan on keeping my dress and using pieces of it to make christening outfits for my children and hankies for my daughter (if I have one) for her wedding.

I love my dress too much to cut it up. I think i'll save it, and maybe one of my friends will want to borrow it. They all loved it.

I'm going to save my dress. I'll probably use some of the material to make a christening outfit when we have children.

That is cool! I wore my wedding shoes (they were a bit different) on our HM and afterwards, it always brings a piece of the wedding with me, LOVE it.

I saved my dress just because I love it. I don't expect a daughter to wear it (of course she is welcome to it if she wants...), my mom had 4 girls, her dress was made by my grandmother, so far no one has wanted to wear it!!!!!!

Well I get to wear my dress again and again for renaissance faires and other medieval events. Also if my daughter/s ever want to wear it, I'll be honored!

I am saving my dress so that I can pass it along to my daughter if I should have one.

i will probably save it for a little while until i get tired of looking at it then donate it. My daughter will probably think its outdated.

I am going to keep mine! I want to be able to look at it for years to come. I want to be able to show my children. Also, knowing me I'll put in on from time to time to reminisce, (and to see if I still have my shape from my wedding day ).

What is the process to preserve a dress? What do they do to it? Can someone explain please? Thanks!
