We've FMed about this, but HECK YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think spanx are very necessary, especially if you're wearing a fitted shape. But I'm also a little nutty when it comes to stuff like that.
I just don't want ANY lumps and bumps in all the rear shots..
In my book, it's worth suffering for.

FYI -- Target carries a line of Spanx from the same designer (Sara Blakely) for about half the price. I get their capri length stockings when I wear evening gowns with sandals... they're great!
I was going to wear a boy-thong underneath my gown but they're removing the interfacing so I might go and suffer with the Spanx :)

I wore none of the above. I decided that the day my dress came in and I tried it on....It was December and I was sweating like a pig in my dress....If I was this hot in Dec. how was I going to survive in May. I was so happy to not have all the layers under my dress on the day of.

Ok so this might be TMI, but I want to wear the spanx for the belly area...but then I'm going to have to strip to pee everytime, which is going to get time consuming because the back of my dress has 5 million buttons...I know theres the 'slit' in the spanx but how in gods name am i supposed to pee through there without peeing all over myself...?

I have no idea what to do so I'm looking forward to your responses. I too have a fitted gown and wondering which direction to go with?
A corset type bra to squish the belly fat or spanx
I'm looking forward to read responses.

My dress is a-line so there's no need for spanx. Everything on my lower body is well-covered. And I wouldn't want the extra layer. I sweat just standing still in it. I can't imagine moving around and dancing in it! I wonder if they can build a little fan into my dress...

I am wearing a long line bra and a spanx like garment. Mine are not spanx but they work the same way and are really really really comfortable and soooo easy to get on. I bought them at Sweet Lace Lingerie in Massapequa. I think they are called body wrap by shapewear.

I will be wearing panty hose and I would definitely bring whatever undergarments you're planning on wearing to your fittings. It could greatly affect how your dress fits the day of.

Spanx are a pain to get on and off, BUT, they are great.
There is a trick...put baby powder on the inside

I am wearing a long line bra and a light weight panty girdle. The bra smooths and lifts as necesary and the panty just gives my butt a little lift.

My dress has boning in it already which s ucks me in. I'm not wearing spanx or anything. I even got cups to sew in so I dont have to wear a bra. haha Otherwise I'd be a sweaty mess!

I didnt feel the spanx made enough of a difference to be worth it on me. I am wearing a corset bra as well, so that ***** in my belly fat.. i dont really care about my hips or legs bc its a line and my hips are kind of boyish as it is .. my tummy on the other hand....
