I am having a day wedding at the Watermill....cocktails start at 1:00.
My church is in Seaford at 10:30....we haven't decided if we are having a full mass or not.
I LOVEEEEE Old Westbury Gardens (FH and I had one of our first dates there) so I put deposit down there months ago to take pictures there in between.
If I go there I will def miss most if not all of my cocktail hour. Do you think I should? I have to sacrifice something I'm just not sure what!!!
Anyone know any other places by the Watermill to take pictures???
AHHH! Help!

Re: Are you going to your cocktail hour?
We are opting not to go to our cocktail hour..FH and I want to make a grand entrance into our reception, so we'll hang out in the bridal suite with our bridal party- who I've told can do whatever they want- go in not go in- we will have our own CH in the suite. Just a preference we have.

We're going to try to make the majority of our CH......bang out as many Thank You's as possible prior to the reception!!!
Maybe you can try Planting Fields Aboretum to take pics. We did our e-pics there and it was beautiful. It's in Oyster Bay which is a bit further East than OWG so it might help you cut down travel time.

We're taking pics beforehand so we can mingle with guests during cocktail hour. It was important to me since all my family is all out-of-state. I'm just going to make sure the photographer gets a good shot of his first look at me, since it won't be the typical isle moment. :)
im doing the samething. i have to many family members coming that i havent seen and want to make sure i spend time with them. i have our 1st moment to see each other all planned out to just to make it extra special since we arent going to have the isle moment either

I definitely agree! Where I am getting married is right on the water and there are some beuatiful places so I plan on hightailing it from the church (which is about 45 minutes away) to the RH and taking pics before the guests arrive! I want to attempt to eat some of that food!

Re: Are you going to your cocktail hour?
We will be at half of ours. We have our ceremony at 3 and CH starts at 7-it just kind of worked out that way in our favor for pics at OWG. OWG is a nice place to take your pics. If it came down to if I had to choose I would miss my CH b/c inthe end all you have is your pics and video. JMO

Re: Are you going to your cocktail hour?
We are definately going to ours. We figured out how much each hour of our wedding cost us and decided, no freaking way are we missing a fifth of it!
We left a few hours between the church and the reception so we don't miss a thing.

Yes, we are going to be at our cocktail hour. Our ceremony is at the RH, so we are taking our pictures before the ceremony so that we can be at our CH, there is going to be plenty of good food!!! Also, if we get to talk to people at the CH, we may have a little more free time at the reception!
