Re: Are you gonna wax your underarms?

I did it once and don't really remember it being that bad. And it didn't itch (probably only does on those 'other' places because that's such a sensitive area). If you want to see how well you tolerate it, try tweezing a few underarm hairs and see how bad it is.

I do it all the time - it really isn't painful at all!!!! Try it once - it is sooo much better than stubbly armpits

Re: Are you gonna wax your underarms?

I did this for the wedding and I do it before every vacation. I don't think hurts any more or less than waxing anything else and it's over very quickly. The thing that stinks is that you should let it grow to a decent length (1/4' or so, maybe even a little more if you can stand it) before doing it to make sure all the hair gets grabbed, otherwise they might have to tweeze to get the extras. I loved it and then was free and clear for the whole honeymoon.

Re: Are you gonna wax your underarms?

About two years ago, I had my armpits waxed for a cruise we took (along with my legs and bikini) and it hurt! I couldn't close my arms down for a day, and they were red for two days! BUT - once it started growing in (almost two weeks later, mind you) I started tweezing the hairs. I thought it hurt so much less than the wax (because the wax also takes off a thin layer of skin with it) and now I pluck my underarms fully every three weeks or so. I get no '5:00 shadow' or anything and it looks and feels so much better than shaving (no stubble!) I totally recommend it to all of you - and don't worry, after about the third time, it doesn't hurt at all! It takes a while, but I put on a relaxing cd, light a scented candle, and it's my spa hour!

Re: Are you gonna wax your underarms?

Funny, I find the bikini and eyebrows to be painful but I don't find the armpit waxing to be so terrible. I do not do it often because I do not have the patience to grow enough stubble for the wax to grab onto. Also, I don't have a lot of hair there, so it takes even longer to grow enough to wax.

My dress has sleeves, so its less of a concern. Of course I'll shave.
