Are you having....

Are you having....

Kids at the wedding? I'm having my first cousins at the wedding that range between 15-22 and I'm having my flower girl and ring bear there too. Now my problem is that I do not want to invite my first cousins that will be 11 and 12(two boys)by time we get married. So then they will be the only ones not invited. Is that rude? These kids are always running around. They're not behaved.

i hear you. I'm just having my nieces and nephews - they are my bridal party. it's tough though b/c my cousin keeps popping out kids but if i invite hers i have to invite all FH's cousin's kids, and i don't want any kids but my nieces and nephews.

We are, yes....we both love kids & our bubble boy & ring bearer will have more fun with kids their own ages there.

I also think there's something wonderfully classic to hearing a baby giggling or something during the ceremony...but that's just me...

I think my aunt is going to be SOOOO pissed when she sees kids at the wedding and not her. I'll have to tell her that the age cut off was 15.
My sister says i'm being rude.

A lot of my first cousins are much older than me and have 3+ kids that are 13 and younger. I am not inviting their children. FH's first cousins are younger so we will invite them. We will only have 7 kids under the age of 18.

We dont really have any little kids to invite. The current plan is to invite my first cousins (youngest will be 15, + one very well behaved 7 year old) and FHs first cousins (youngest will be 17) and that's it.

We are doing 'teenagers' and above. I have a cousin who is 13 and she will be the youngest there. For you, the same rule could apply 'wedding party & teenagers and up'. HTH

No Way!!!! Weddings are adult events, birthday parties are for kids.

Most of our friends and famiy can't wait for our wedding, they are looking at it as a weekend getaway!

Re: Are you having....

I am having an army of children at my wedding - probably about 28 kids and just 95 adults! At 32, we are among the last of our friends to get married and they all recently had children. Most of the children are babies or tiny toddlers. Because our wedding is long distance for nearly everyone (including us), I wanted to give parents the option to bring children. Quite frankly, I was concerned that some may not come if they couldn't bring the baby as not all have relatives that they can use as sitters for an entire weekend. I also remember how much fun I had at wedding receptions when I was little.
Because there are so many children, we are hiring 2 or 3 babysitters and making a kids area with toys and crayons that is in a separate room of off the hall. They can also run around outside weather permitting.

However, unless a child can still fit in a parent's lap, they cannot come to the ceremony due to space limitations (small chapel). They can drop off their children at the reception with the sitters b4 the ceremony, which is just 3 blocks away.
