I don't know why I'm so torn with this. Still trying to decide whether or not to add it on!
Please tell me why you decided for or against it.

The Riviera does a mini-viennese so that's why we are doing it. We're also adding cordials to it.

We had it.
Giorgio's provided us with soooo much from. I'm sure people were stuffed just from the cocktail hour itself.
But that didn't stop them from sweets. If they have a sweet tooth they will go running towards it

I just don't have the extra money to spend, but i also think that it is more food for people to eat that should already be full!

YES!
I used to work at SandCastle and the VH is unreal! All the workers would try to sneak some pastries after we wheeled everything back in. Definitely get the bananas forster!
It is so worth it. All the guests always loved it.

Russo's has a viennese hour that is to die for!!! Everyone waits for it. I love viennese hours at weddings. I personally think the cocktail hour and the viennese hour are the two best parts of the wedding.
Same here. I love the display Russo's does... and the cocktail hour is yummmmyy!!

With both sides being Italian, we had no choice but to have one. I'm really looking forward to it.
Exactly! That's when our families eat - that and the CH. I think at our wedding, the meal will be the waste!

Re: Are you having a Viennese hour? Please vote!
this is an option for us to have- and is included in our package..
On the one hand- I think it is fun and exciting- and would like to do it.
On the other hand- we were told at Carlyle when we looked there, that it is a party killer.
We are also doing an after-hours which will have cordials and chocolate covered strawberries amongst other things.. so probably not..
My question is-- has anyone been to a wedding with one of these were it killed the party? I.e. people are no longer dancing, etc.

The Viennese hour was a must on my list. There's no getting around it - we are both first generation Italian-American and so as far as the families - we have never been to a wedding without one. Now - in all fairness...it will push my Sunday wedding to 1AM but most family will stay until the end anyway - it's the best part. Our hall will box the leftover goodies up for us to enjoy later. We'll be home for a few days before the honeymoon so I am looking forward to some post-wedding diet-breaking days with those little pastries!!!!

I think Russo's boxes up the left-overs too.

I think its good to add it if the place gives you the extra hour of time. Sometimes they are party killers b/c people get off the dance floor to eat, but I have never had that experience. I think they are fun, sometimes they are too much. I like the idea of the coffee cordial and viennese platters on each table.

We just didn't think it was worth it. They're great, but I don't find them all that impressive, personally. As long as I have cake (good cake!) I'm a happy camper!

I went to a wedding a Russo's and loved the Viennese hour! Actually the MOG purchased plastic to go boxes, and people picked what they wanted, and took it home or like us to the hotel! We were to full to eat it at the reception but it made a great breakfast the next morning!!!

The to go box idea is cool. I don't knw if it's a aprty killer. It depends on how it';s presented. Some places bring it out onto the dance floor and the presentation is just so prtty but of course, no one's dancing, but it's an houw you wouldn;t have had anyway, and it's when people are winding down and getting ready to go. I like the to go box idea. I love the viennese hour, but I'm always too fukll for it. I would love to have a wedding that wasonly CH and VH
