Are you having fondant?

Or something else? The cake I want in the pic has fondant, but I don't know. I'm pretty sure it will be extra $$.

yea it probably is extra. And honestly, it doesnt taste very good IMO. It looks gorgeous and would be great to have one. But I just feel its soooo sugary and gives the cake a funny taste lol

my RH said I can have any style cake i want as long as it doesnt use fondant. using fondant can create a really pretty cake but its sooo thick, im not a fan of it.

It is extra money. Or I should more expensive. It looks great but lots of people don't like the taste. It's super-sweet, and lot's of bakers put a layer of buttercream underneath it as well, so make sure you know you like it. I don't...it also leaves a weird aftertaste in my opinion. But that's me.

I totally wanted fondant also!! I spoke with my florist who works with my RH and I told her that I wanted fondant and she had pics of cakes.

She said half of the pics weren't fondant but 'smooth icing' So if it's the look you want, just ask for smooth icing and it looks EXACTLY LIKE FONDANT. I was soooo excited about that!!!!!

Fondant looks great, but not sure how good it tastes. We prefer taste over looks for the cake- so maybe buttercream? I guess we'll decide at the tasting....

I've never had it before but it makes the cake look beautiful! lol I know a lot of people say it's not very good. I'm having viennese also so I'm not worried about people not like the cake. I've been to plenty of weddings and didn't like the cake. They'll have so much other stuff to pick from!

Fondant is beautiful and takes alot of time to put on a cake.

The cake is first frosted with icing, mostly they use a buttercream icing.
Fondant is NOT meant to be eaten...it is edible, but its mostly for the look, what you are supposed to do is peel away the fondant and just eat the buttercream icing underneath.

I am a sugar psycho and i love fondant icing....but MOST people do not like the taste wich is fine, just peel it away and eat hte regular icing under it

No....I don't like the taste of it and don't like buttercream either. I want a timeless, creamy tasting cake!

I'm not a fan of buttercream lol. I like whipped cream, but I'm not getting that for my cake.

No we are doing smooth icing. Fondont looks pretty but we are not spending the extra $ on it. It drive the cost up a couple of dollars per slice.

I wish we could have Carvel ice cream cake honestly. It's both of our favorites....but I'm thinking it won't hold up so well for pictures.
