Are you having fondant?

Original post by Mici n KC

Or something else? The cake I want in the pic has fondant, but I don't know. I'm pretty sure it will be extra $$.

I wish we could have Carvel ice cream cake honestly. It's both of our favorites....but I'm thinking it won't hold up so well for pictures.

Yum! I love the crunchies!

Fondant is beautiful and takes alot of time to put on a cake.

The cake is first frosted with icing, mostly they use a buttercream icing.
Fondant is NOT meant to be eaten...it is edible, but its mostly for the look, what you are supposed to do is peel away the fondant and just eat the buttercream icing underneath.

I am a sugar psycho and i love fondant icing....but MOST people do not like the taste wich is fine, just peel it away and eat hte regular icing under it

I'm not a fan of buttercream lol. I like whipped cream, but I'm not getting that for my cake.

how yummy would a cake be with strawberries and wipped cream...but of course they charge extra for that too

I'd love it!

same here!! why does ice cream cake have to melt??

ETA: at our RH, to have fondant would have been quite a bit more, and we have very simple tastes, so we opted for whipped cream icing.
