I am and am curious to see how many people are and are not inviting kids to their receptions . . .

FH and I have a lot of first cousins who we are close to that we want at the reception, most of them are over 16 except for my FG who is 4. The RB is 5 and his brother is invited too and he is 11. So I guess we are having kids...just a select few.

We have two 12 year olds, two 14 year olds, 1 16 year old and 1 17 year old. Not exactly kids, but not exactly adults either.

We have 3 kids, but they are my close cousins so they don't seem like children to me. Their ages are 14, 12, and 11. They are all used to going to fancy parties and acting like adults, so both FH and I are very comfortable having them there. I wrote Adult Reception to Follow on our invites so people with kids under 10 won't come.

No minor kids, with the exception of fg, rg, and fh's nephew that is abnormal. He won't be able to stay with anyone.

Yes, we are inviting FH's second cousins because as he puts it,'all their possible babysitters will be at the wedding.' So we will have a table of about a dozen children ranging in ages from 1 to 11.
Shout Wipes anyone???

We are not....its a night wedding and the three kids that would of been invited are 2, 5 and 10 and I think that is too young to be invited to a night wedding...JMO though....
And trust me it did cause issues, but I had to put my foot down on that one.

My preference is not to. HOWEVER, there are lots of relatives on BOTH sides of the family with kids, some who live a little far away, and Im assuming this would mean that a fair amount of them wouldnt come. Id rather have the families, plus kids, than have half our families NOT come at all. Babysitters arent really an option for MY family (most of whom are in NYC and NJ & upstate- wedding in LI) and for HIS family, there are kids in almost every couple. So I guess this means Im having kids at the wedding.
