Are you inviting

Original post by CappyGirl

Co-workers to your shower? My office won't do a work-shower or anything like that, and I'd only invite the women who would be invited to the wedding, but what is everyone doing?

ETA: there is only 1 man in my office, there are like 20+ women and no shower . . . weird, right?

Re: Are you inviting

I work for a family, the only female is the mother.. I don't know if I'm inviting her, and if I do I'll have to invite her daughter-in-law and her other sons g/f.. and my other co-workers wife (as they are all invited to the wedding) and I know all of them.. but I really dont want them at my shower.

but I've been holding back this question:

should I invite the dancers from my dance studio? There are a handful of dancers and a few teachers I will be inviting to the wedding... usually the senior line puts together a shower for the bride (or mom) to be... so should I just assume they'll do that for me? or should I invite them? only one other teacher has been married and invited students to her wedding, but I don't see her much and when I do we're usually busy so I can't ask her what she did. (I wasn't invited).

so do you girls think I should invite them?

No co workers to my shower.

I think if my shower were local I would invite 1 or 2. But not all of them. Just the few that I actually socialize with outside of work.

Re: Are you inviting

I didn't invite coworkers to my shower but I am inviting them to my wedding. I thought about it though. My reason was that my shower was in Queens. I would have invited 3 coworkers.. One lives in LI, one in NJ and one upstate. I just knew it would be a hassle for them to come to Queens and it's not like they can even carpool. If they all lived in Queens or in NYC for that matter I might have invited them.

I am very close with the other teachers on my grade level & they are all coming to my wedding. I wanted to invite them to my shower but I prob won't b/c I know they will throw me a shower at work & I don't want them to have to buy me 2 gifts.

No... I am only inviting 2 women from work... well three but I don't count one bc she is in my BP. The other is an old bag who I am inviting out of obligation and the third would just feel out of place at the shower....

Re: Are you inviting

im on the fence about this issue too! I just started a new job so I am probably not going to. I am only inviting former co workers who I was close to, maybe 2 or 3 people, but that's it. I am trying to keep the guest list to only close family and friends.
