Ditto, ditto, and ditto. I LOVE my setting but if I get a different ring or a different stone or a different anything it won't change the meaning behind it. I'd upgrade a car, a house, my ring, anything if it's what we wanted. I plan on passing my ring down so it's not like I'll be taking thousands of dollars to my grave.

I completely agree! And I love your last line especially...a lot of times, people attach too much emotion to material things...I don't see anything wrong with having the ring upgraded, it's a material thing...it's not like you're tarnishing your love by having it upgraded..

i agree with all of you guys ... i think a ring is a ring and it doesnt mean anything ... i am on my 3rd ring from thats right my 3rd ... long sotry short the one he proposed with was his great grandmothers and it got lost (he lost it) so he got me a new one ... well there was something wrong with the new one so when we went back he saw another one he liked more so he got me that one instead!!! i love the one i have now but if he was like lets upgrade to a bigger diamond i so would ... and i dont necessarily get jealous jealous of other girls rings ... but some you cant help be like omg i am jealous i would love that ring ... like mizzdimple ... your ring is huge and pretty and i would not mind having that on my finger

omg im sittin here reading this and u call me out lol...um its not fun! seriously! When I saw it was idnt even realize how big it was and then I was like...ummm people are going to think im materialistic...i actually take it out of birds eye view..its a bit embarassing is this wrong to feel this way?

dont feel that way ... who cares what people think ... you know you arent materialistic so who cares and if anyone has any negative comment about it then i would say they are just jealous cause they just want one ... the only thing i would be would scared to wear it ... i'd be afraind i get mugged ... i would make sure to have insurance on it ... also if you really feel wierd wearing it all the time ... maybe then get a smaller one that you wear all the time and you can wear that one for special occasions ... but honestly my asss would just wear the huge one ... wear it proud theres nothing to be ashamed about ...

of course... i wear it everyday lol...but yea i turn it around alot...and i have insurance..and im scared to death to loose it..i have anxiety about it...but I love it b/c we can pass it down., and its very unique.

But small or large i would love anything...Im in love and marrying the man i love =)

Honestly... I absolutely love my ring! Probably because I picked it out... lol... And I actually tried on a much larger rock and it just looked weird on my hands...

So what if my diamond isn't as large as others? It's very good quality which is way more important to me anyways... it always sparkles! And I know that it's the best that FH could do only working part time and being a full time student. I love him so much for buying me what he did, and I'm more excited about marrying him than anything else!

I love my ring. Fh and I had looked at rings online so he had an idea of what I liked. Also, I have little fingers so a huge ring would look stupid.

LOL...I was going to say I probably have the biggest fingers..they are 8 3/4! When my FH took one of my rings to get my size for my e-ring, he said the woman behind the counter, and his mother were shocked at how big my fingers are! FH has the same size as me...I was always told I have man hands!!

But...I love my e-ring...and I don't think I would want to get a bigger size. It means a lot that he picked it out himself. I might want to make it a lower setting, because it gets caught on everything....but besides that, I am happy.

Yes, and Fh bought it from a place where we could 'up grade' in the future as money permits

For some reason, i dont really feel sentimental value with my ring. i like it and everything, but if my house were on fire and i had to save 3 items, my ring probably would be #4.

i am getting two wedding bands, one with diamonds and one plain. the plain band will be engraved and i will consider this THE ring with sentimental value that he will give me during the ceremony. i cant explain it, but there is something about simplicity that seems so special to me. i guess thats why i find i single rose from a garden way more romantic that a dozen roses from a florist.

i do get jealous how other girls gush over their rings, i wish i felt that way. but to me it just seems like an expensive piece of jewelry and i dont really like jewerly. i know, i must sound ungrateful.

I dont really get jealous, I love my ring, but I def admire other girlks rings.

But It means a lot to me that FH picked it out and bought it for me. He loves seeing it on my finger

FH would never let me change it so upgrading is out. He feels that this is what He got me and thats it, he hates that woman change the setting and such. I sort of agree with him, he gave me THIS ring and thats what it is.

But maybe in the future after we are married a million years, ill get another hehe
