Re: ARe you looking for money?
before we booked anything, we made sure we had enough money to leave a deposit for the vendor. its easier than trying to come up with $500 or 1k in a few days.

Re: ARe you looking for money?
when we first got engaged we started a bank account that was strictly for wedding funds...every week we put our set money aside...By the time we booked anything (july) we had plenty of money saved...We continue to save & even through extra cash in the account when we have it around...We are pretty well set with the wedding money
Of course it would not hurt to have some extra money!

we did the same thing. anytime we get extra $$, it goes right in the savings acct.

We're trying not to book all the vendors too fast bc there is plenty of time to do that...we opened a bank account about a year before we got engaged and just started throwing in extra money every week...we saved moeny before we booked the hall so that we could pay for it and not worry about how...we'll do the same for the rest..

Me and FH did the same thing. With our side work we opened a separate bank acct. when we got engaged. Money is slowly depleting though, as we book our vendors.

Re: ARe you looking for money?
We had an engagement party 10/03 and everyone was soooo generous. Granted we had over 150 people which is insane for an e-party but that gave us a nice chunk of change to work with and use for deposits.
Good luck!

We are hoping to have a low key engagement barbecue at the beginning of the summer. I hope our families are as generous as yours!

Yeah, we were very lucky. Our e-party was in a hall and it really could have been a wedding! It was larger than I wanted but it was a lot of fun!
Good luck!

We're paying for most of our wedding also so we're going really slow with the planning so we can save in between...we're looking at photo/video now so we have to keep saving that $$$$!

Re: ARe you looking for money?
My best friend told my FI and I to stagger the bookings so to stagger the deposits BUT I see that lots of the 2006 ladies have started booking DJs and Photographers already so I am nervous.

Re: ARe you looking for money?
My parents threw us an Engagment party on October 2nd....and we had over 200 people, in a hall. We registered, bc my future mother in law wanted us to....so we got a whole lot of great kitchen stuff...and money! So we are saving and using what we need. .
