Are you making all your BM's wear their hair the same?

I think its unfair of me to ask that cause I know everyone looks better with different styles ... but my hair dresser insists that i have too

Can you post pics for your BM hair? Preferable half up and half down

I only have three and 1 is a child so I am going to ask them if they can wear their hair up. They don't have a problem.

I think it only becomes an issue when you have larger bridal parties.

Why does the hair dresser care? I don't think I care. They won't be in that many pics anyway.

I just was in a wedding that did that. Everyone in the bridal party had the same dress and their hair was 1/2 up, 1/2 down. Everyone looked good (excpet maybe one girl) but we looked like cookie cutter bridesmaids.
Everyone is different and everyone looks good in different styles. Let them wear their hair how they are most comfortable. You chose them because they are individuals not because they fit a certain mold. JMO, sorry.

As for the hairdresser, my MOH is a hairdresser and she made fun of the wedding I was in, saying that we looked silly because we all looked the same. Here are 20-something year old women exactly alike.

She said it looks terrible in photos - but I dont see why it would. It would be just like taking a pictures with your friends, who are have individual style!

I think you just let them wear what suits them...what would look horrible is if they all wore the same and not all of them looked great with that....

why would your hair dresser insist they have to? why would she care? - saw you answered that before I posted - sorry!

Do what you and the girls want. Personally, I don't like the bride to ask them how to wear their hair...I think if you hate your hairstyle that will show up worse in pictures and in your mood than a different hair style than the others. I also like individuality. I was only in one wedding who did that and that was like 7 years ago and I hated my hair and the hair dresser hated putting my hair in the style because my hair is so thin it was such a pain for her. I have been in several wedding parties since and the bride let us wear whatever we wanted.

But I know many brides like uniformity so they do and that is their preference. I know other brides that go in the middle and just request all updo's or all half up half down....do what make you comfortable - not the hair dresser.

My sister (MOH) will wear her hair half up/half down. My cousin (BM) will wear her hair up. I can't ask them to have it the same way, that's not right. It would look too structured.

I agree with Niecey, if you don't like your hair style, it will show in pictures. I doubt there's a hairstyle that will flatter all the women in your BP.

If you are fine with having your BP having different hair styles tell the hair dresser to save it.

How about the same, but different.

I was 1 of 4 BM in a summer wedding, & we all wore out hair up , but each was a little different.

I was going to let my 2 girls do whatever they wanted, but they want the same. It won't look exactly the same b/c their hair is so different, but that's what they want. If a 32 year old with thick curly hair & a 16 year old with straight, fine/medium hair can agree on a style, who I am to stand in the way!

I am not. In fact I want them all to be different. I am having them wear seperates as well. I dont like the cookie cutter bridesmaid look.

Personally, I would never want that. Its one thing that everyone is in the same dress, but they are not the same person. To me, that would dimish the beauty of each of my BM.

i had them all wear their hair as they wanted to....besides, they had all different hair lengths, so uniformity woul dhave been impossible.....one has really long hair, one medium length, one just above the shoulders and one really short....what style can accomodate al of those?
i wanted them to be comfortable and beautiful and they were!!!!

I'm hiring someone to do my BM's hair and M/u, but I will leave it up to them how it is done. I think it will look fine in pictures.

I'm only having 2 girls - I asked that they either both wear their hair up or both down because I'd like them to look more uniform. But I've been rethinking that decision lately.

I'm going to wait and see how the hair trials go.

Bottom line is do what you want - not what your hairdresser wants!!

I guess I like cookie cutters.

Not sure why the hairdresser cares - it's what you and the girls want. I have 5 and they are all different people with different tastes. As long as hair dresser is being paid, she should be doing what you want.

I'm only having two girls and there is no way they can do their hair the same, so lucky for me its not an issues. They are complete opposites of each other and I love their individual styles.

My Matron of Honor has SUPER SHORT blond hair (its adorable on her) and is 5ft 9in. tall. My bridesmaid has very long dark brown hair down to her waist and is 5ft tall (if that)!!

Talk about opposite extremes! But I love 'em both

I truly don't see the need to have your girls all wear their hair the same .. I've never been in a wedding where I was told to wear my hair up or down, etc. But really its up to everyone and the relationship with their girls to decide
