Is anyone considering moving out of state after you get hitched? With taxes here, I feel like owning a nice home is impossible.

I would love to move to NC. And iam sure thats where we will eventually wind up. But for right now we will hang around here and save until we have enough money to move.

florida eventually...we may start looking a few months before the wedding or a few months after - we can get so much more house for our money - plus my parents and sister are down there - FH is in luck b/c he can transfer to the office there and keep his salary - its just about when the timing would be best for him to go with work - he will have a long commute though but totally worth it - not sure what the future holds but eventually we will be there!

in 2010 we are moving to sc,
we want to be in our house long enough to earn a decent amout off of it. we will start building the house in feb 2009 and hopefully be moved in by jan 2010

We can't . . .
I would be stupid to give up my teaching job here on LI and so would FH. He has tenure and I'm in the process of earning it. We would never earn enough money teaching in another state, so moving wouldn't pay off.
I want to live somewhere else . . . but it isn't going to happen. How I'm going to afford to live here, I don't know. Anyone have a cardboard box I can live in?

We are in contract on a house so we will definitely be staying here! The only way I'd move out of state is if my family comes with me. Couldn't imagine being more than a car ride from my neice and nephews!

I am!!!! But I don't think FH is...i would love to get out of NY as much as I LOVE it here affordably wise i don't think it loves me back....why is it in NC you can own a 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bathroom mansion for 200,000?!?!?!

I would leave in a second! I woudl totally miss my friends but someday with kids and stuff our lives won't circle around them anymore...FH is another issue he loves it here. I guess we'll just have to battle it out someday. For now we're here...

We are seriously considering it!! We want to get a great house for our money and right now, that just isn't happening here. The first place we will look is Maryland since his sister lives there. I'm scared to go anywhere else since I won't have any family there and neither will he.

we didnt live on LI pre wedding and were in wichita ks..thats where DH is from and where we met and its soo easy to live here

We are moving to NH in 2009, probably fall 2009, but if we find a good deal on a house in summer, we're buying it. Just toooo expensive to live here, even though I do love it and will miss my family terribly.
