yup...Hopefully!!! I have an interview Monday in Boston. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!! I would be leaving before the wedding and FH would join me after. If the $$$$ is right, of course.

no plans of leaving. For fh it would be stupid to leave his job. He has mentioned moving to florida or vegas for a little while maybe a year or so and only bc his company has locations in those places so he can transfer there for a bit. I would do florida but not vegas. And again ONLY if its temporary, i would want to move right back.

I'm living in NC for the past year finishing vet school and I CANT WAIT to get back to NY PERMANENTLY AND FOREVER in 6 and 1/2 more weeks.....no offense to anyone who wants to live here, but i've never been soooo bored out of my mind as I have been this year and everything closes at like 9 o'clock and NOTHING is open on Sundays!

FH and I are moving to Mt. Pleasant, SC... it's a suburb of Charleston. We're moving there because that's where FH is doing his residency starting this summer! We just went apartment hunting this past weekend and I absolutely love it there, I'm so excited!!! ![]()

We can't . . .
I would be stupid to give up my teaching job here on LI and so would FH. He has tenure and I'm in the process of earning it. We would never earn enough money teaching in another state, so moving wouldn't pay off.
I want to live somewhere else . . . but it isn't going to happen. How I'm going to afford to live here, I don't know. Anyone have a cardboard box I can live in?
My story is pretty similar. I would love to move off of LI but FH's teaching job is so secure and pays so well thatit would be dumb to move.

Same situation for us! When he couldn't find a job, we had applied all over NC, SC, and FL, but then he got the job here. Can't pass up his job here...way to much money to leave! Not to mention, I would have serious family withdrawals! I was willing to move though...my job is easy to find anywhere. I get jealous hearing about everyone moving!! It is so hard to afford to live here!

We're considering the Wilmington area of NC too! My parents moved there almost 8 years ago and my sister's family did 2 1/2 years ago. We are working in NYC and saving like crazy so we can get a new house and have a killer down payment for it. I think it's much easier to consider moving when you know someone who's already there. NY Taxes are RIDICULOUS - we can't afford to stay here if we want to have kids!

The scary part is all the nonsense going on in Albany now. If they cut more funding from LI education, we're screwed in our contract negotiations this year.

we're considering St. Croix in the us virgin islands now...lol after our honeymoon, it was sooo great there, we really liked the warmth and no sales taxes on anything!
