Are you paying for your Bridesmaids ....

Are you paying for your Bridesmaids ....

hair/makeup?
dress?
shoes?
hotel rooms?

Is anyone helping their girls with ANY of the cost other than giving them a gift and the rehearsal diner?

Some girls I've talked to have paid for something and other girls say no way. In the end it's do what you feel is best, I know this, but I'm just being nosey. Tell Espo to read this and give it to me straight!

Thanks!

I'd love to...but I can't financially. So to be fair, I told them that hair and makeup were 100% optional since I know how expensive it gets.

I'm only giving them DOJ and RD. Everything else they are paying for themselves. I think accepting to be in someones bridal party comes with a financial obligation and you accept understanding that financial obligation. Honestly every wedding I have been in that is how it ws handled.

Aww, that was nice. I think I'm going to help them with that because I just feel so like, selfish. Forcing them to get hair and makeup - though they all said they wanted it. Thanks for your input.

If having their hair and makeup done is important to you, I guess I'd try to cover some of the cost (If you can!).

I'm only paying for my MOH's hair. I can't afford to shell out the money for all 6 of them. I don't think any of them expect me to anyway... every wedding I've been in I've paid for my own hair/makeup.

you said it perfectly....i have been in many bridal parties at this point and not one bride has asked that i get my hair or makeup done...totally my option with which i have always gotten my hair done...not my makeup....and for mine the same goes....i would never feel comfortable telling anyone how to wear their hair or to spend money on getting it done....therefore....totally the BM's choice....but expenses come with the territory of being in a BP....

I bought DOJ, tee-shirts, hotel rooms, party bus for a Girls Night Out, gift bags with some nice toiletries, and a weekend at AC. My bridal party consists of 11 girls.

doj only. can't afford more than that. I picked out reasonable priced dresses-about 115 with a coupon I had. I left the hair and makeup as optional. Most are doing the hair, not makeup. My MOH has much more money than me and wouldn't want me paying for her.

I am not asking them to get their hair/make-up done. I told them that someone was coming to my room to do my hair (I didn't even mention make-up) and asked if anyone was interested. My best friend wants a blow-out. I'll pay for her for that, but that's it!
I've been in two weddings, and never was it required that I get my hair/make-up done.
I think that at this point in our lives, most of us know how to do it, and it isn't necessary as a BM. JMO

I agree too. I couldn't afford to pay for everything and then I would feel responsible to pay for the GM as well. The girls know that hair and make-up are optional. I let them choose the dress they wanted (actually it came down to two dresses and I suggested they go with the cheaper one of the two they really liked). I will however in addition to their gifts (which include DOJ, vera bradley bag, and flip flops) invite them all out for mani-pedis which I intend to pay for the day before.

I paid for their dresses. The cost came out less than if I would have paid for their hair/makeup because I got a great deal through the place where I ordered my dress.

Nope....I've been in so many bridal parties and this was never done and I don't think that it is a must to do. If you have that much cash and can afford that PLUS a gift, more power to you! lol My BP has the option to do their own hair/makeup if they'd like to...so, I'm not pressuring anyone to spend money.

Re: Are you paying for your Bridesmaids ....

Actually I was just talking about this with my mother, because both of my sisters said they couldn't afford to get their makup done. I want them to feel beautiful, but I am not sure I can afford to pay for it for them, and I feel like I should buy their jewelry also.

I don't think we are going to end up paying for the makeup, although I would like to. I feel your pain!
