Is anyone helping their girls with ANY of the cost other than giving them a gift and the rehearsal diner?
Some girls I've talked to have paid for something and other girls say no way. In the end it's do what you feel is best, I know this, but I'm just being nosey. Tell Espo to read this and give it to me straight!
Thanks!

Re: Are you paying for your Bridesmaids ....
I am not able to help them out, but I really wish I could. I have said that hair and makeup are 100% optional but most are getting their hair done. As for the night before the wedding, I've asked them all if they wanted to stay and most have said yes event though I mentioned that we would have to split it. They are being really supportive which is great. I wish I could do more but it's nice to know that no one is saying I'm a bridezilla because I'm demanding stuff but not paying for it. I love my girls for making me feel like they really want to be a part of my day!
ETA: I did purchase DOJ for them-nothing fancy just something that is simple and inexpensive so if they only wear it that one day, it's worth it.

I'm only giving them DOJ and RD. Everything else they are paying for themselves. I think accepting to be in someones bridal party comes with a financial obligation and you accept understanding that financial obligation. Honestly every wedding I have been in that is how it ws handled.
yea i feel the exact same way, but to be fair, I'm not forcing any of them to get their hair or makeup done...i think all are choosing to do hair, and some are doing makeup

I'm paying for the hair and makeup for my 2 BM, 1 MOH and my mom. I'm giving them their DOJ during the shower . I am also giving them cash on the day of the wedding. It's chinese tradition.

Re: Are you paying for your Bridesmaids ....
its up to you and what you can afford. Ive heard of girls paying for hair and make up but they give that as the gift instead of giving them something else and then some give that plus a gift.
I am not paying for hair, make, dress, shoes. I would love to but i have a big bp but just the dresses alone came out to $1500 or more i forgot, hair and make up for all my girls would cost over $2k so with everything else i cant do it. And i dont think its expected, there are no rules to do this.If I had a small bp then maybe this would be an option. With dresses i went to Rk bridal and told them to do the no frills so this way the dress they liked they each got $90 off the dress and was a good price. For shoes i told them wear whatever color or style they like. For hair and make up i also told them its optional, they can get it done wherever they want, they can do it themselves if they want its up to them
I got them gifts and then what i did was pay for a suite in vegas as part of a gift.
There are no rules lol and with your thread yesterday every single person who posted wrote the same thing as i did that everyone invited to a shower should be invited to the wedding lol it wasnt just me telling you that straight up hahahaha

Re: Are you paying for your Bridesmaids ....
I am not - I did my best to get the cheapest price for the dresses as possible. I am letting them wear whatever shoes they want as long as they are either brown satin or bronze. They can wear their hair anyway that they want and can get their makeup done or not. I did offer to make a reservation for them at the salon where I am getting my hair and makeup done. Again, I left it totally up to them.
I will be buying them DOJ and a wrap of some kind.

no, not paying for anything and my girls don't really expect me to. saying that though, my only stipulations for the dress were 'brown and tea length' so they could find a dress in their price range that they would wear again. shoes i did sort of the same things (just color stipulations). hair and makeup is optional.
i will be giving them a bm gift that they can use the day of though.

Re: Are you paying for your Bridesmaids ....
I don't think so. I am trying to keep costs down though. I picked a reasonably priced dress (actually, they picked it), and asked them to wear silver open-toe shoes which most have or can borrow (I also sent them a link to a sale w/ $5 shoes). Hair and makeup are optional but preferred and I think all but one are doing both. I'm considering paying partially towards it but I'm not sure.
My 2 OOT BMs (well, one in CT and one in NYC) will spend the night at my house after the rehearsal dinner since we are getting ready very early day-of. This way they don't need to get a hotel.
Other than that, BM gifts....

I'll probably be putting $ toward their hair & makeup. I bought them DOJ as their gifts. they're paying for their own dresses and shoes.

Re: Are you paying for your Bridesmaids ....
No. I paid for their down payment for the dress and giving them something at the rehersal din. Thats it. I told them hair/makeup/nails/shoes are all on them. They don't have to get anything done professional just look nice!

I am not paying for anything, I figure my maids are all 30-35 years old and are earning more money than me (I am a student still!)

Re: Are you paying for your Bridesmaids ....
I got hair and makeup for a mere $100 and my BM dresses w/coupon were only $90, So that's actually cheaper than helping w/hotel rooms to be honest.

Re: Are you paying for your Bridesmaids ....
i would love to pay for everything b/c i have been lucky enough to be in weddings where the bride paid for at least my hair. I only have 3 girls, all family. I bought them DOJ and i'm giving them a few small gifts as well. I'm planning on paying for their hair and leaving the makeup up to them. I was also thinking of picking up the tip of the makeup and hair.
