Are you planning on telling anyone how much $$$ you made at your wedding?
Original post by esb980
People keep on asking me this and i don't want to tell them so I say 'we did well' but his immediate fam keeps pressing me. What do you tell people when they ask. Also, a lot of people ask me if we had a lot of sex on my hm.... uhm... how do I respond to this? I've just been saying, ''I read a lot' and then they assume no. I don't like to talk about sex w/ my DH's fam... so... how do I answer this crap?

It's weird that people would ask..but if they insist on getting an answer..I'd have to agree with 'people were very generous'. No reason why they need exact figures....

we gave both sets of parents copies of our list so when their friends/family get married they will give them what they gave us.

Well, for most people we say 'We were very lucky and people were very generous'
But we did volunteer the information to my parents....
I wouldn't even share this with mine or FH's parents, they wouldn't even think of asking.

I would just ask 'Why do you want to know?'
That should shut them up.[/QUOTE
I would say something like this

Just say people were very generous to us. As for the sex thing, say thats a private matter and you are not discussing that with them.
I agree with Lauren. I'd say the same thing!

Goldi's answer's to the 'How much did you make at your wedding?' question.
1) 'Not enough to support your sorry a$$!!!'
2) 'Just enough to buy the entire Beatles catalog of songs with the exception of 'Rocky Racoon,' 'Taxman,' and 'Why Don't We Do It In The Road.' '
And my personal favorite:
3) ELEVENTY BILLION DOLLARS

Re: Are you planning on telling anyone how much $$$ you made at your wedding?
I cannot believe the nerve of some people.
1/ it's none of their business so I would not even bother answer the question. Otherwise, I would ask why they need to know.
2/ Sex: I would not answer this question but only would ask if they usually ask about other people sex life on a regular basis.

Beyond telling whoever is asking that it is none of their business, I think in response to the first question - how much did you make - my answer would be - 'we didn't get married to make money, we got married because we love one another and want to spend the rest of our lives together'
In response to the sex question - I would either try to make the person asking the question uncomfortable, or give them a wise arse response like - 'as hard as we tried we couldn't make it through the entire Kama Sutra, page 111 just had us hooked!'
The first response is definately what I would say, and as for the second....I may need to steal that one.

Sweetie people are idiots. Tell them to mind their damn business. Asking you about your sex life how horrible. Its one thing if its your best gf, who you tell all your secrets too then yes I can understand her, but other people are just way to nosey. And the whole money thing thats just rude. Its impolite of you to tell the world how much you made. I say tell them to mind their business and let it go at that.

They didn't ask, we chose to tell them. I am very open with my parents and I wanted to tell them. It is your choice to NOT tell your families, but it was ours to tell them.

Just respond with 'People were very generous and we were very lucky'. Nuff said. If they continue to press you? Just say you don't feel comfortable throwing a number out!
