Ive spoken to a few people and they've said things like 'how can you get married at this time'...
I dont think any of us that planned our wedding over the past few years expected an economic downfall to take place.
Hopefully things will get better....

I am not scared to PLAN during this economy- things are already done and paid for. I am only scared of when we live together and God forbid one of us lose our job.
Same for me...I'm more scared of finding and affording a place to live and being homeless than having the wedding. That and getting a lot of nos...I'm expecting them from the OOT, but even people on LI.

It scares me because I am about to graduate and can't find a job. FH and I can't afford for me to be out of work, especially with the wedding coming up.

the only thing i'm afraid of is a lot of NO RSVP's i don't under stand how someone could say no to going to a wedding simply because the economy stinks I mean it is paid for and if you can't give a gift for whatever reason so be it. At least come and celebrate with us
See most people won't come empty handed, I wouldn't. So I would rather say no to a wedding than go without a gift.
I got a lot of no RSVPS, I was under my minimum, I am sure a lot of them were because people just didn't have the money to give a gift.

Re: are you scared?
CNBC did yet another story on my company and I am hearing all this buzz around the office about us not being able to get in the doors on Monday. I hope we jump back again.

I'm worried, we both are...but not for the wedding, for buying a house and for our future. I am pushing for an employment contract at work so if I do end up getting laid off sometime, I'm at least guaranteed severance!

Re: are you scared?
As scary as it is, NO ONE knew that we would all be getting married in the midst of a crisis on par with the depression.....we all do what we need to do and it's no ones business how it gets done.....these aren't ideal times, but with all the money we're ALL spending, we can't just say, okay, lets call it quits, sometimes people are so ignorant!!!

Re: are you scared?
It's sad to hear about so many people getting laid off, but honestly, I am not going to stop living my life. It's not like I'm throwing an overly extravagant event. I guess my views are a little different than others though since I have not been put in the same situation where I am fearing unemployment.
