Are you washing your hair the morning of your wedding?

Original post by diamondgrlie

I know it sounds like a weird question but at my hair trial she said to wash it the night before so there arent 'fly-aways'. I honestly dont think I will feel fully clean if I dont wash my hair that morning. What do you guys think? Thanks.

i tihnk it really depends on your hair type and your oil levels. My scalp looks oily if i don't wash it, so i have to. but I have friends who, every time I compliment tham on their hair go 'oh thanks! It's because I did not wash it today!'

I washed my hair the morning of the wedding and had no issue with my updo. My hair was in a very large bun and it stayed in all night and i dance all night..

Same here.

at my trial she told me not to wash my hair that day but when the trial was over, she changed her mind and so i washed it that day but that is because she semi blew it out straight before she curled it. ask your hairstylist what she suggests.

My stylist told me to wash it the morning of the wedding because I have an oily scalp. So I did. He blew it dry, put it in an up-do, and it stayed all day. I think everybody's hair is just different when it comes to this.

I would just do whatever your stylist tells you to do--s/he's a professional and knows what works best!

I agree that it depends on your hair and it may also depend on the weather. If you are getting married in the warmer weather, your hair may get sweaty at night and it would be better to wash in the morning.

I washed in the morning and my hairdresser came over and blew it out and styled it for me (it was down). I was pleased.

I'll do mine the day before - mine always looks better a day later.

They always say to wash it the night before...i always do it the morning of, otherwise i feel all yucky and greasy...id rather have fly aways then be uncomfy. Plus ive had my hair done twice this year with my hair washed that morning and my hair came out perfect!

Yes! My hair dresser recommended it be washed the morning of the wedding. She will be preping my hair after it's washed. I want my hair to feel/look clean when someone works on it to make it look great for my big day. I rather have my hair and make-up prepared the day of the event when it's fresh rather than the day before as I'll sleep on it and it'll look matted and unkept.

To each their own--only you know your hair and how it look/feel if washed the night before.

Wash your hair the night before. When your hair is just washed, it gets slippery. Therefore, your hairdo might not stay put. Otherwise, your hairstylist needs to put so much gel or spray just to hold it together.

That morning. My hair is thick and curly. If I dont wash it that day I am afraid birds will try to land in it

I agree, totally depends on what type of hair you have. But i also think that if you are having an updo, it really doesnt matter, but I gotta say that I think if youre having it down with curls, it may be better to do it the night before. Just from my experience with the curling iron, my hair always seems to hold curls better if its a little 'dirty'

I was specifically told NOT to wash the day of -- better the night before, much like Jola said the oils of the hair help hold the style especially like an updo better.
