Just interested.. are you and your fh's going to use the traditonal wedding vows.. or write your own? (I kinda like the writing your own.. more personal.. kinda refects more of the people involved.. that's not to say the traditional vows aren't sacred and beautiful!)

Re: Are you writing your vows?
We're traditional, so we are going with the tradional vows, we find them to encompass all we want to committ and say to each other, plus we really like the sacredness (sp?) of them!! I will say though, that friends of ours got married over the summer and they wrote their own vows and it was very beautiful, that it just not for us, but if you want to--GO FOR IT!! It's your wedding!!

No we're not. We are afraid of going blank, and we don't want to hold a piece of paper at the alter either.

We want to personalize our vows - we're not traditional and find a lot of the traditional wording to be dated (no offense to anyone who is using them, this is just our opinion).

Re: Are you writing your vows?
To be honest.. when I put my mind to it, I'm not a bad writer.. and I have written something already that made her cry of tears of joy.. (It was right before I popped the question. I done good!)
And we LOVE surprising each other.

Re: Are you writing your vows?
originally we were going to write our own vows...but then i thought about it - and i dont' feel comfortable sharing those kinds of intimate thoughts with a whole lot of people....everyone knows we love each other aready - i wasnto save some things just for the two of us! so we're going to go with traditional.

My thoughts exactly! Plus I really love the thought that I will be saying the same things that Our parents pledged to each other 37 years ago! To me there is something really special about that!

Re: Are you writing your vows?
I would like to say the traditional vows, and also say a little something else about how I feel for her. Perhaps before or after the traditional 'sickness and health' stuff. I don't mind having a piece of paper in my pocket if need be.
